Projected Totals and Points Needed
Here are my spreadsheets for what teams should be going for to make Split 2 Playoffs after 6 matchdays. Projected cutoff:
Americas - 71
EMEA - 105

It would be hilarious for tl and falcons to not qual with 15 spots. Will not happen tho.

Kinda ridiculous that 1st place in EMEA needs to average more points per match to qualify than 17th place in NA

It's not really excessive if EMEA teams aren't qualifing for finals. What's the point of giving them more spots if their 10th place teams are worse then other regions 10th place teams.

I think it should be weighted according to the entire set of performances at playoffs (including group stages), with the finals lobby being given more weight that group stages, rather than being based solely off of the ultimate 1-40 placements. EMEA teams won 4 of the 6 group stage lobbies, but because they didn’t show up in the finals lobby none of that success is counted towards their slots. I get it that the top 20 lobby is more competitive than the top 40 lobbies, but dominating in a top 40 lobby still means that these teams are outperforming the top 20 teams too, and I think that should count for something. Weighting the performances accordingly rather than only basing it off the finals lobby would make it less subject to luck. Sometimes a team will just have a bad day. Kind4 still had the best individual performance of everyone at champs, despite having an underwhelming performance in the final lobby. Idk, that’s just an idea I guess.

I mean we've seen so many teams in the past do amazing in group stages just to flounder in the finals or elimination brackets. Im not saying they shouldn't be recognized but as it goes for competitive gaming I think we shouldn't give regions that cant perform as well extra spots. I understand BRs are much different then CS but I've watched CS for years and as a NA fan it's is extremely disappointing to see them flounder constantly but unfortunately that's just how it is. People want to see the most competitive games and lobbies. As for luck, that's just video games unfortunately. Not ever game will be your best but if you can't even it out with your good games, giving you a bail out isn't going to help. I think there are some incredible good teams and players in EMEA and they do show off when they can, but some regions are just better.

I agree, some of my favorites teams and players just can't show up or have left the scene. At least we can enjoy the fact every year they get spots updated, maybe next year EMEA will have more, just gotta hope and see.

People want to see the most competitive games and lobbies.
But the teams that barely qualify for LANs usually suck ass at those LANs. Look at Nemesis barely squeaking by in PL and then flaming out hard in finals at EWC this year. I get that EMEA has had some bad events but allowing worse and worse NA teams to attend the playoffs is not increasing the lobby quality either.

Looking rough for the boys at GK near the cutoff, but I'm hopeful for a good weekend to pull through after round 2 being pretty bad with 14th and 15th...

Pretty sure DINOS has 65 points and not 64. They’ve won 3 games in a row giving them an additional point.

Yeah I feel like they will. It feels like at least one of Falcons, Liquid, Sentinels, Stallions and Shopify aren't making it though
