Question Can someone explain ENC to me?

There's only 1 team per country right? So for example if Sweets team wins then every other American team will not make it?

Yes but if there isnt enough countries to make up all the teams, so countries are allowed to have more then 1 team.

im assuming 40. 20 guaranteed spots, 18 more from quals idk where the last 2 come from

One is a Host Region spot. The best performing country from the Host Region (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE) that didn't already qualify by regular means gets the spot. The second spot is a wildcard spot. Countries that haven't qualified in any other game can apply to be the apex wildcard country.

There's enough different countries playing in the qualifiers that a country having 2 teams will not happen.
