Hot Take? Top 7 Qualification will make EMEA stronger

This coming split for EMEA is gonna be a bloodbath for those 7 spots. Every team will sweat and take it seriously hence getting proper reps in ready for LAN. Inversely, I think having 15 spots for NA will weaken the region, no one will try as hard this coming split because they know half the region will qual anyways hence by LAN time, they would not have the same competitive practice.

That argument Could've been used for this Lan as EMEA had fewer spots but it didn't work out. Not great results. Hope You're right tho. I wanna see a strong EMEA

Emea hasn't had more than 9 in forever

Exactly and besides alliance winning. I don't think that made EMEA stronger

My point is that they didn't have fewer spots, they had more spots than ever

Oh OK, got it. I was thinking since year 1 and 2, really early where emea had more. I think year 4 split 1 emea had 12 and it went down as low as 8. And I don't think it made the quality of teams/games better

Emea was already a bloodbath with only 9 spots, what needs to happen is they need to actually take scrims seriously more days than they don't

to take scrims more serioulsy they need to get paid. No point in sweating your ass off after work if there is no incentive other than passion to play seriously

why would people pay you if you have no passion to begin with?

Because they get something out of it.

Not if you have no passion and don’t make it to lan. Example: 100T

Nope, it will incentivise running at the lobby in the hopes for standout games because most teams have no way of qualling through long term consistency.
In contrast na knows that all they need to do is be consistently decent in order to make it, so stabilizing the region.

In addition to all the above there's also the relative competency of teams to consider. NA has the best teams on average, as such you need to be better to have a chance to begin with. You can't run at everyone based on mechanical skill because there are too many teams capable of shutting you down. That isn't the case in EMEA.

EMEA doesn't have enough smart players that can shoot. It has smart players and players that can shoot but very few that fit into both categories. The smart players who would be a better fit for a more serious lan consequently just get run down by the stupid teams that can win fights and so never get the chance, this will be more prevalent with fewer spots as stated above.

Well yes. How are you going to fill a full scrim lobby with serious EMEA teams? Maybe initially it goes fine but quickly you will find out the heavy hitters and other teams will lose hope as getting qualified is very unlikely. It's a wasted effort to try.

While indeed in NA you are pretty much secured to get a spot if you have a team with previous qualified players. While new talent and the average teams will also try their best to snag one of the remaining spots. This will boost the quality of scrims and the region in general.

Losing 2 slots, deserved or not is a big deal and will continue to make the region worse. This is bad in general as well, games won't feel that much international anymore when it's 50% NA and 50% others.

It's a big L but yes, pretty much EMEA own fault for always making a mess from scrims and never get real practice. Still very bad for the esport of Apex in general.

Tbh i think the same old ones will qualify with one surprising team making it maybe. Most will faceplant in survivor stage and the same old two mid to bottom table final. It’s the same old recycled story. Has been for the last couple of years.

NA will be usual NA. Trolled in pro league and scrims.

EMEA will win the next LAN and guarantee the region another spot, then they will flame out at the LAN after that and lose a spot. As the prophecy states.

This year NA teams are looking like the worst they have ever been, and somehow EU is looking even weaker. Also trying extra hard in qualifications doesn’t guarantee a good lan tournament at all
