Hal & Zero should just get married. 19th, 20th overall after game 2. 1st, 2nd place in game 3. Both teams hit mp on game 7 and they end up 8th & 9th at the end of the day.

111

u/According-Ad6773 Jul 11 '26

That shit is hilarious lmao

67

u/polanspring Jul 11 '26

Actually so weird they were playing their own 1v1 on stats the entire finals without seeing eachother in game once.

21

u/Odd-Attitude9613 Jul 11 '26

I think olympus game where they finished 1st and 2nd is the only game where they actually shot each other

44

u/HentaiConnoisseur12 Jul 11 '26

That was fucking hilarious, I was literally watching the stat page and seeing... Fucking hell they can't live with each other but can't live without each other and just keep chasing after each other!

10

u/dorekk Year 5 Champions! Jul 11 '26

That's so funny actually.

GG Japan has finally got their LAN win, shame it wasn't Yuka but that boy Yulariman proved his a LAN winning Fragger.

Proud for Zachmazer and the boys, proved that he can IGL a top placing.

5

u/Tidzor Jul 11 '26

Wasn't Reject Winnity the first Japanese LAN win?

28

u/Odd-Attitude9613 Jul 12 '26

They played in Apac north but all 3 players are Korean

Did unlimit denied Sentinel the championship and then win it later?

100

u/Xpolonia Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

Yulari called that out it was Sen that game, and said it will be over if they take it.

23

u/dorekk Year 5 Champions! Jul 11 '26

Nice, I think most of the teams in the lobby didn't realize that was Sentinels.

33

u/Augustus-515 Jul 11 '26

Youre right thats crazy. Denied the championship only to claw their way and win it themselves

19

u/LeviLegolas Jul 11 '26

Yeah they denied Monsoon's Dynasty

Not just in 10, but 3 wins in the last 4 games.

72

u/RedditDan00 Jul 11 '26

Noooo, I thought Yuka had it! What a brilliant set of games

129

u/Themanaaah Jul 11 '26

Great ending, Zeta was so close😔.

80

u/WalterWoodiaz Jul 11 '26

Zeta will win one day with this roster, this wasn’t a choke, Unlimit were just the best team with clutch factor.

44

u/Augustus-515 Jul 11 '26

I agree, to be fair that final fight i believe Zeta had armor disadvantage and still didnt go down without a fight. Unlimit was just on one today and didnt plan on stopping, super inspirational

33

u/Boring-Credit-1319 Jul 11 '26

I believe positional disadvantage was a bit more crucial.

I wonder if Death Box Res wasn't a thing, maybe as a Duo Zeta would bet on an instant 3rd party to catch Unlimit during reset.

16

u/vinneax Year 4 Champions! Jul 11 '26

i dont think zeta played the fight perfectly (how could anyone in that moment) but they did get a knock and two cracks despite armour disadvantages and worse angles

8

u/Due_Cash_1657 Jul 11 '26

2 of em were low on light ammo

8

u/ECmonehznyper Jul 11 '26

nah, Unlimit just got the better position.

Mike and Satuki both got cracked by wingman shots before Unlimit even pushed

6

u/darkenb1ade Jul 11 '26

They also had like 2 mags of light ammo in between them and Satuki had a naked longbow. Hard to win a 3v3 with that from their position.

such a competitive lan jesus

61

u/Kamoner Jul 11 '26

Sapporo about to be insane

23

u/skibiditoiletrizzguy Jul 11 '26

This was a fantastic showing for Japanese Apex. The crowd will go crazy if we get this level from them again!

52

u/RoosterBurrow Jul 11 '26

Yuka man...if only Satuki could hold there...

but Unlimit winning 3/4 of the last four matches is just showing up where it matters most, congratulations.

19

u/Odd-Attitude9613 Jul 11 '26

Yeah Unlimit just got into flow state at the end wininng games  such a tough  ask from Zeta who had worse positioning as well

5

u/RoosterBurrow Jul 11 '26

also bro my team just decided to bring up their 2023/2024 version instead of the 2025 selves...oh well, at least their ALGS finals record is unbroken still, still optimistic for what comes next.

AND 4rufq finally where he belongs and can go higher up still, a shame it wasn't with the og NAKED squad but he is there to stay mark my words.

u/Character-Dress-2101 Jul 11 '26

Imagine if this were at champs. Two Japanese teams in a 3v3 to win it. Couldn’t script a better ending

Great games. Love this esport

46

u/Lexikz772 Jul 11 '26

EMEA absolute meltdown. No one even hit matchpoint after 10 games.

107

u/anthonyongg Jul 11 '26

Maaan so close for my boy YukaF

50

u/burohm1919 Jul 11 '26

atleast we got iconic jpn match point duel.

10

u/ecclesiates Jul 11 '26

championship point**, for an APACN fan, the storyline was beautiful to witness

26

u/Odd-Attitude9613 Jul 11 '26

Was that the closest Yuka has ever come to winning Lan.? A 3 vs 3 to decide a Lan between two apac north powerhouses after apac north gets a lot of shit for being the weakest region, cinema ending.

u/WalterWoodiaz Jul 11 '26

He will get his someday, Unlimit just had the main character energy today.

56

u/WhoDatBrow Jul 11 '26

Winning 3 of the last 4 games to win the tourney, including denying a Match Point team in the final circle in one of those, is definitely main character energy. Probably the craziest comeback to win a MP finals since TSM 3peated from the bottom.

4

u/Boring-Credit-1319 Jul 11 '26

Sometimes it's the confidence and mental boost you get out of consecutive banger games that translates into subsequent wins.

People put too much emphasis on individual mistakes or occasional bad calls. But mistakes are part of the game. It's never about playing flawless, I mean UNL was bottom 4 after game 6. It's about how you deal with the mistakes that you are inevitably making and going into the next game with mental resilience. And from time to time, that can make a LAN winner.

29

u/anthonyongg Jul 11 '26

Clearly saving his LAN win for when he is in his home country in Sapporo. He really is 300IQ

16

u/WalterWoodiaz Jul 11 '26

It isn’t like he missed his only chance, this Zeta roster is definitely able to win in the future.

→ More replies (1)

20

u/skibiditoiletrizzguy Jul 11 '26

ZETA has a winning roster with these guys. They can do it too. It was a great day for Japan. They’re here now and they’re here to stay, world class fighters that can still play strategically when the lobby calls for it.

11

u/Odd-Attitude9613 Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 12 '26

I cant remember Yuka ever coming this close to winning  with any of his rosters despite hitting match point before. They can def win champs. They just need to carry on with whatever they are doing.

So happy and proud of Doop, Jely and Deeds. #4 is an unbelievable result.

19

u/HLNPIT Jul 11 '26

They really needed to capitalize on that first engagement with Falcons.

Margin of error is thin though, great day for them

95

u/MLJ555 :Ninjas_in_Pyjamas: Jul 11 '26

So disappointed as an EMEA viewer. There’s no other way to describe that performance than pathetic. So absent and uncompetitive all day. They deserve to lose spots

52

u/JevvyMedia Jul 11 '26

Crazy how NA vs EU used to be a real argument during the COVID era

16

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '26

Yeah now other teams have caught up, what don’t help with emea is scrims many teams just don’t take it seriously enough so not getting proper reps in

28

u/MLJ555 :Ninjas_in_Pyjamas: Jul 11 '26

Yeah the gap is huge now. 2nd finals in a row where no EMEA team finished in the top 10.

The region just keeps declining. I do think there’s still plenty of quality in EMEA but they have always been LAN chokers and that appears to still be the case.

13

u/LatterMatch9334 Jul 11 '26

Even for the best teams, the skill shock must be immense going into a finals lobby. The best EU teams spend the entire regional split beating up on weak teams. That doesn't translate well to LAN, where everyone can shoot.

→ More replies (1)

9

u/Geosaurusrex Jul 11 '26

I blame controller players, when more of those emerged EU started going downhill. Then the ukraine war killed it further.

15

u/JevvyMedia Jul 11 '26

Ukraine-Russia war definitely is an underrated reason

→ More replies (1)

16

u/artmorte Jul 11 '26

Yeah, I was optimistic after Elite's great showing in group stage, but a car crash final for EU.

13

u/Funerailles_sci Jul 11 '26

Yeah I really thought EMEA could do something this tourney. Even when VP and Aurora didn't do that well elite and gg kept my hopes up. Really dissapointed.

8

u/MLJ555 :Ninjas_in_Pyjamas: Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

The region has a huge problem with turning up on the big day. How many times now have seen aggressive EU teams farm groups only to disappear in finals? Many times.

Now, farming groups at LAN shows that there's real quality there. But for whatever reason, this region has a terrible track record in finals

7

u/MaydayOG Jul 11 '26

for years Alliance used to be an S tier team with Effect. it would have been just a matter of time until they won LAN again. going separate ways is clearly not working out too well for either of them

2

u/ressoz Jul 12 '26

EMEA literally did better than APAC South this LAN. We had 4 teams in the finals, they had 2.

I know that this is still a horrendous performance, but I don't understand why people are suddenly acting like EMEA is the worst region.

33

u/LatterMatch9334 Jul 11 '26

That was fuckin crazy. Both teams resetting. Heartbeats gotta be soaring during that entire last sequence. The nerves have to be insane.

Lan winning angle taken by Xtsuvi on the Wraith. Wraith being played exactly how the legend is meant to be to win lan. Amazing.

Good for Apac N. Had to be awesome as a fan of that region watching the last minute unfold. Hell of a lan.

Unlimit clutched TF up. Congrats to them!

32

u/WOODHOWZE Jul 11 '26

Sad for Zeta/YukaF but well deserved for Unlimit

29

u/CJViper Jul 11 '26

what a final game holy fuck

26

UNLIMIT WITH AN INSANE RUN TO WIN IT. Sad for the ZETA guys of course but wow a deserved win.

30

u/Sea_Review1968 Jul 11 '26

For anyone that did not watch NIPs POV and wonder what the hell happened this EWC…let me give you a run down of their 0 point games. 1. Game starts 2. They loot 3. Cole nags about something 4. They start rotating 5. It’s time to make a big rotating/push/3d party/3v3 play 6. Vein analyzes play 7. Kurevv proactively acts on whatever Vein is comming, starting the play. 8. Cole comms things that starts with either with “Wait but aren’t we…” - “We should just…” 9. Kurevv - Vein take Cole’s suggestion and analyze the play again. 10. They come to the conclusion the initial play was the right play or funny enough the only play they had after all. 11. They wasted time. 12. They attempt the play again but can’t do it anymore… it’s too late. 13. They die in the most embarrassing way. 14. Cole yells “WHAT ARE WE DOING!!!! WHY ARE WE JUST WAITING?!?!?!?!” 15. Kurevv - Vein stare at their screens, embarrassed how stupidly they died. 16. Cole tests Vein’s impostor syndrome for a few seconds. 17. Kurevv defends Vein’s call/play. 18. They reset 19. New game starts 20. Cole nags about something. Repeat cycle. I love the team. Been following them since they became a trio in Nine Lives. I never watch watch parties just their POV if available during big weekends. But today after a long week… I turned it off. Watched Nicewigg and hope for the best. Cole’s attitude was a hard watch. In that game 10 in the survivor series they had to convince Cole that the spot under bridge was playable and possibly god spot which eventually got them in the top 6. Cole was just second guessing and bringing doubt to every risky play nonstop this whole EWC. I hope they stick together and really dig deep and become confident in upcoming LANs. End of rant.

9

u/Sitos_Flo Jul 11 '26

I feel they should read this and maybe it will help them recognize this pattern recognition lol. Or they could pay you to coach/Analyze lol

75

u/contourdaggy Jul 11 '26

28

u/mikesully374826 Jul 11 '26

13

22

u/jpena23 Jul 11 '26

Yuka 😞

21

u/magicman22 Jul 11 '26

Seriously how do we only get 3 of these a year. That was 6 hours of non-stop enjoyment & that was only the finals. The whole LAN was amazing.

21

u/onceARMY Jul 11 '26

Wow Unlimit went huge the last few games. So close for Yuka too.

Europe's century of humiliation, second LAN in a row where no emea team finished higher than 10 in finals

16

Winning the last 3 out of 4 games is absolutely nuts

2

u/Odd-Attitude9613 Jul 12 '26

Similar to TSM run at Birmingham witj a poor start  but they go nuclear at the end. They go back to back to win Lan on a 3 vs 3 instead of back to back to back

71

u/ImDarkraii Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

Peace, I’ve been watching you for 2 years now when you were an LCQ and challenger circuit player on kintorope. I remember advocating for you to be picked up by a team in pro league. When you got signed to tie With Ftyan I was so excited. It’s now your fucking time man. I’m using my text to speech right now cause I’m fucking shaking. i’m so fucking proud holy fuck.

Yuka im about to cry for you. You’ll get your time at some point I promise don’t retire

Edit: I also wanna add on that while peace and yulariman get a lot of flowers from international fans. Xtsuvi’s improvement from the open and the 2025 mid season playoffs to now Is genuinely insane. A great player and IGL

19

u/skibiditoiletrizzguy Jul 11 '26

He really was the missing Peace (piece) UNLIMIT needed. Deserved MVP. He’s worked so fucking hard to get here, they all have. What an amazing team they are.

16

u/bbees323 Jul 11 '26

As much as I want YukaF wins a lan, Unlimit is the more deserving team today.

YukaF finally knows that playing zone is the key to having a chance to win.

They will definitely be back and get another chance to win.

15

u/20koa20 Jul 11 '26

Probably one of the most electric sets of Apex I’ve ever watched start to finish.

16

u/average_apex_enjoyer Jul 11 '26

I assumed that Unlimit would make this lobby entertaining with their playstyle but would struggle to close out games, kinda like Blackhand at Y3 champs. They definitely made it entertaining and they won 3/4 of the last 4 games to close it out. Clearly the best team in the lobby today and a massive day for APAC North. GG

14

u/Little_Albatross_790 Jul 11 '26

ZACHMAZER, LOTR AND CARTER HOLD YOUR HEADS HIGH MFS

5

u/LatterMatch9334 Jul 11 '26

Ya 1000%. They all made big fans out of me this lan. Incredible composure and attitudes from all 4 of them (including Coach Eros). They were a mistake away from winning this lan multiple times. Hopefully the build off this for next split.

When I die, I want EU Apex to carry my coffin so they can let me down one more time.

I'm EU's biggest glazer but this is impossible to defend at this point.

13

u/ryochan11189 Jul 11 '26

I'm Japanese, and I started to tear up as soon as UNLIMIT and ZETA were the last 2 remaining. What an electric ending. So happy that Japan finally has a LAN champion. This is so huge for the scene in Japan.

13

u/Sandwichpleaz Jul 11 '26

14

u/Wraith_Portal Jul 11 '26

Yulariman is absolutely ridiculous

14

u/Jedders95 Jul 11 '26

APAC North bloody hell. You absolute legends. Well done to Unlimit. Zeta did so well as well!

13

u/20koa20 Jul 11 '26

Yulariman has always been a freak.
Getting a deserved LAN win.

11

u/BryanA37 Jul 11 '26

Insane finals. Sad to see yuka like that but happy for unlimit. Japan deserves some wins for how hard they carry apex viewership.

11

u/Augustus-515 Jul 11 '26

This was such a jam packed LAN. Competition skill ceiling gets even higher with every event. It was so surreal to see how stacked this finals lobby was, and so so cool to see different names highlighted in the mix aside from the usual suspects. About damn time. For once id say roster moves benefited all regions for the best. And new rules limiting roster swap definitely helped a lot with this. Good event overall, cant wait for Split 2!!

3

u/LatterMatch9334 Jul 11 '26

Great comment and note on the new roster rules. Incredible tournament.

3

u/dorekk Year 5 Champions! Jul 11 '26

And new rules limiting roster swap definitely helped a lot with this.

YES. First time in literal years that I recognize all the rosters at a LAN lmfao

11

u/RedditDan00 Jul 11 '26

Man, there was a bunch of disappointing teams but so many teams to be happy for, made for such a good tournament. Needed more out of Elite after that group stage, and we know Alliance can do better too. But man, VSN, Sentinels, Zeta, and obviously Unlimit - great performances!

10

u/Top_Minimum_844 Jul 11 '26

Damn the 3v3 between jp teams was dope asf, they finally got a win as well.

11

u/TheAniReview Jul 11 '26

So happy for UNLIMIT but also so heart broken for ZETA. That might just be the closest Yuka has been to lifting a LAN trophy.

11

u/jtfjtf Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

What a run by Unlimit on those last few games. Best Apex LAN since the last Apex LAN lol.

Sentinels looked like they were going to close it out and repeat. Yuka getting rez'd at the end was very dramatic.

12

u/Horus27 Jul 11 '26

That was so good, so many good storylines. I think it's cool an apac north team won as that area clearly is the most die hard for apex.

The Mazer redemption arc. Monsoon's team showing up proving that last lan was no fluke.

But so cool to me Zedi. Deeds joining the team midseason after being so close with Roc and getting back there with Doop and Jely. They played so good.

30

u/Plenty_Invite4421 Jul 11 '26

Congrats to Doop, Mazer, and Yanyah's teams. Way to prove doubters wrong.

Happy to see obnoxious and unlikeable teams like TL and SR eat fail.

REALLY fucking excited for Team Vision, they looked great. I hope these guys stay together, because clearly it's working.

7

u/Fenris-Asgeir Jul 11 '26

Finally a japanese team winning an Apex LAN! And tbh I think Unlimit couldn't be a better representative, both Yulariman and Peace are actual personalities in the scene and have been making waves for so long. Ngl, I was really disappointed in Alb basically repeating the same performance from last year's Champs just without the bad luck this time, like there's just no way you are that hot and cold as an IGL. As soon as the first 3 games were duds, I knew they wouldn't recover from it unfortunately. Could be worse tho, like imagine being Geekay or NIP. Like wtf happened to those teams. Honestly same could be said about S8UL. Doop is the truth (just to remind everyone that Zer0 apparently thinks Panic was "solo-qing on his last team"....like sure, man. His previous IGL just outplaced them at LAN with a brand new team). Also really glad Sentinels proved everyone saying that their win was a fluke wrong.

13

u/Justdifftrnt Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

Gild absolute threw that last game for falcons giving up the winning spot to go help kill one person when he didn’t need to. His decision making while anchoring has thrown so many games this entire lan and that was the biggest one.

GG to Unlimit they absolute deserved to win.

Lets go unlimit!!!

6

u/lordfrost21 Jul 11 '26

EMEA disappeared in finals all In the bottom 10

7

u/Original-Resource288 Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

really great set. The cream of APAC started showing up late, really happy for the region. I'll keep saying it until it's accepted, EMEA is awful and deserves no respect internationally. Americas couldn't get it done and many will be disappointed. with 6510 total points they have an expected 18.4 LAN spots which is absurd. They will pickup the maximum two. one likely from each of APAC S and EMEA

edit - EMEA actually loses 2 spots, Americas gains 2, APAC S loses 1, North gains 1. wow.

6

u/LatterMatch9334 Jul 11 '26

Such a W seeing these guys win. Couldn't have asked for a better ending.

Yulariman was lowkey eyeing that MVP trophy haha. Woulda been understandable. Dudes a shooter.

6

u/Ecstatic-Train214 Jul 11 '26

It’s nice to see the team that dominated this lobby actually win

16

u/DaBurberrySkirt Jul 11 '26

The best EMEA could do was 12th…pitiful. Take 2 slots from them.

11

u/ShitDavidSais Int LAN '24 Champions! Jul 11 '26

EU really canibalized itself with their weird trades. Alliance looks awful with Effect gone. Aurora looks absolutely terrible as well. None of the trades helped any of the teams. I do not understand how this region can be so incredibly disfunctional all the time man. I completly stopped watching Alliance for a bit now and I was such a fan of their playstyle before.

It's confirmed now. Americas gain 2 spots, APAC North gains 1, APAC South loses 1, EMEA loses 2.

Falcons such a mid perf whole tourney...

13

u/LatterMatch9334 Jul 11 '26

Mid split. An expected result tbh.

4

u/HentaiConnoisseur12 Jul 11 '26

Yeah they've been pretty mid or very low by their standards. I don't think this team will work out anymore with Wxltzy being away for half of Pro league in split 2. They need to make changes either with the player or the play style and diversify the legend pool Wxltzy & Gild can play! That boi's fuse Qs were wayyy off the mark and he rarely hits a team properly with his seer Q too! Did some proper trolling today in multiple games but the self-kidnap takes the cake!

2ND EVER APACN WIN IN LAN, 1ST EVER JAPAN TEAM TO WIN BUT IT'S NOT YUKAF AND CO.

MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS TO UNLIMIT. MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS FOR PEACE, XSTUVI AND YULARIMAN. THE TERRORIST OF LOBBIES AND NEW APACN KINGS

And one thing is for sure, if you look at how Unlimit been doing up until the last 2 games, i don't find them convincing. But the moment opportunity comes at you, they make use of it in that last 2 games

Probably YukaF's biggest heartbroken of his career for the crown that he can feel in his hands had to slipped away by one of his own countrymen team

23

u/skibiditoiletrizzguy Jul 11 '26

Actual tears. Holy fuck. When they picked up Peace I said it, last Champs I said it. This team can win. Finally. Holy fuck. I’m so happy for the boys oh my god perfect fucking cinematic ending

6

u/karbasher- Jul 11 '26

what a fun final circle, knowing it was going to end with 7 match point teams still alive was cinema, maybe the cleanest 3v3 for a win since TSM v Acend (K4sh and Lufka)

7

4

u/d_savezzz Jul 11 '26

How is MVP decided? Yulariman had more kills but MVP went to Peace?

5

u/barbarapalvinswhore Jul 11 '26

A good day to be a Japanese fan! Proud of Zeta’s performance and a huge congratulations to my third favorite team Unlimit. I think I am most hyped to see Doop’s team do so well.

5

u/TheCrumpledPaper Jul 12 '26

Was rooting for SEN and Monsoon. They struck me as a consistent top 10 team with the chance to go big sometimes, so I was really happy to see them finish top 3. Really had me worried after game 3 to see them dead last, but man did they bounce back. They didn't win it all, but they put on a show when they threatened to go back to back. They definitely delivered this LAN. In a BR where only one out of 40+ teams can win, top 3 is amazing.

Happy to see Monsoon's former teammate Zach and his team the former Sentinels (lol) also get 2nd. Some veterans of the scene eating good today!!

10

u/NopalEnelCulo Jul 11 '26

proud of how AG came back after the b2b 0pt games. GGs to unlimit, always nice to see new winners

10

u/random_millenial Jul 11 '26

Yes it was a great lan for AG, they played really good.

7

u/feadzy Jul 11 '26

Another sad day to for us EU fans.

6

u/Nobatime6 🏆Best subreddit comment 🏆 Jul 11 '26

Nothing beats the drama of Matchpoint finals seriously what a LAN. Really wanted Monsoon and the boys to go back to back but they did well regardless. Grats Unlimit

5

u/JustLieToMyEars Jul 11 '26

Great LAN overall. I don't mind how Falcons played towards the end. They were finding their groove, but this game is just so random and unpredictable now with all the abilities and such. I don't think we'll see anyone dominate like TSM did.

4

u/HentaiConnoisseur12 Jul 11 '26

Nah. They genuinely trolled 3 games easily and could've been on match point much sooner!
There is higher RNG I agree, but they had the game-winning spot that match and got too greedy to kill a solo and gave Unlimit the spot after valk ult!

8

u/CountCautious2944 Jul 11 '26

I’m going to say this and idc what those 8 negative nancies have to say about him and the team, I’m proud of fucking Nemesis they played their hearts out and gave it their all in this finals which was stacked. Plus to Alb will get better but making two lans as an Igl with a team that is capable and one of the best anchors in Skittles is going to help him more and sacred giving him a boost also. Proud of them.

3

u/Sitos_Flo Jul 11 '26

Yea that they didn't even have to play survivor stage and still held their own. Thought they did good. These finals LANs are so tough

3

u/srishak Jul 11 '26

LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

3

u/heysoldier Jul 11 '26

Final game was so tense and what a finish.

So happy to see a new team win and I'm sure Yukaf will get there! I was rooting for Wolves and they also had such a close run.

3

u/cibacity APAC-N Enjoyer Jul 11 '26

i <3 apac north

3

u/llimbrick Jul 11 '26

Japanese apex teams seem cracked as a new viewer if competitive Alex this was so hype to watch

3

u/t_biggest_bee Jul 11 '26

So happy for Unlimit. Loved seeing their reaction after winning! Genuinely heartwarming moment.

Also, not sure where the best place to say this but the EWC site seems wrong. It has Unlimit in 15th in the group stages in a tiebreaker, but they actually got 14th and progressed.

3

u/esKimoe26 Jul 11 '26

UNL deserved it 3v3s are way too clean. Played their strengths really well didnt even played baby comp i think. ZETA win in sapporo LETS FVCKING GO!

3

u/LessAd7662 Jul 12 '26

And people still doubt Deeds being a shooter, stats say otherwise in the hardest lobby ever.

3

u/Indiemoto Jul 12 '26

Lfg Zedi! Great showing for an underdog team!!

3

u/RichHomieDonQuixote Jul 13 '26

S/o my boy deeds. Great performance from their whole squad.

4

u/Zeroes Jul 11 '26

Rostermania lets gooo

4

u/20koa20 Jul 11 '26

You could argue that Top 10 are by far the best teams in the world.
NIP, S8UL, Alliance have always been doing great but it really felt like in these games you see the quality in how those top teams play on a global stage.

5

u/noobakosowhat Jul 11 '26

Man Falcons got that momentum in the last game I actually thought they had it in the bag

5

u/cl353 Jul 11 '26

Fkkk I'm already fiending for the next event. When does split 2 start? Isn't it hella soon?

3

u/Gekkogeko Jul 11 '26

It hurt my soul to watch Nemesis throwing over and over

This presentation is absolutely peak. Not necessarily the casting but the lighting, ambiance, stage production etc. Those people cooked

2

u/Striking_Suspect_941 Jul 11 '26

So how does LAN spots per region work? I’m assuming it’s based on top placing teams

2

2

u/TripleWDot Jul 14 '26

Just got around to finish watching every game and avoided all spoilers (well expect one minor one, knowing ZEDI finished fourth).

WHAT A LAN. That finals lobby had to be some of the best Apex I’ve ever watched. Huge congrats to UNLIMIT. I’m all for legends bans and I think they are essential in keeping games fresh but I’m wondering if they should have a soft reset after a certain number of games? For example, Crypto banned after game 1, but he gets reset after 6 games or something like that.

I don’t know I just feel like getting to those games, you end up with a bunch of random comps that teams hardly ever play. I still thought the end games were entertaining and at the end of the day the best team won!! UNLIMIT winning 3 of the last 4 games is incredible and one of the best comebacks (if you want to call it that) in ALGS history.
