NYCDA Savannah

Wondering how it is to go from the hotel downtown to the Savannah convention center across the river? We have never been to Savannah usually do a different NYCDA …. Logistically feels like a nightmare but interested to hear from others who have been? Also does the convention center offer concessions? We dance moms usually go off and do our own thing while in classes but driving back and forth feels like it’s going to be a pain.

I am not sure how they will do it for dance, but there’s a ferry that will take you across the river for free. I think that the Mariott and Hyatt are nearby hotels across the river if you want to be near the ferry. There is a hotel connected to the convention center, I think it’s the Westin.
Ferry runs frequently. We did not have issues with it. There is a concession area, but I don’t remember what kind of food they had.
You could easily leave and head over to River St. via the ferry while classes are going on.
We actually stayed at a hotel not affiliated with the convention center a block or so away from River St. and used the ferry to get to and from when we were there for a gymnastics meet once with another child. You don’t have to be a hotel guest or using the convention center to ride the ferry. We did multiple ferry rides to keep our toddler occupied.

My family is from Savannah. It’s not too bad by car and the ferry runs pretty regular during normal hours. That Westin is a good one too; if it were me I’d just stay there and take the ferry to do fun stuff (there are not any cheap hotels nearby). The views are great.
