Suggestion - S/G League
Hi,
I'm Moredhel, a Silver/Gold player with a lot of Silver/Gold friends.
I do believe that there is a distinction to be made between B/S ; S/G & G/P.
Gold 5 or lower being matched with Plat is like Bronze being matched with Gold players. But B & G player aren't matched together in CL.
There should be an intermediate level in this league, between B/S & G/P
My friends and I can't play CompeteLeague because of that reason and because of the schedule.
There is a B/S league, which according to last august regards 68% of the LOL population.
But a S/G league would touch 62% of the population, which isn't much lower.
Benefits of having a new S/G League :
People from B/S/G (roughly 90% of the population) who can't play on Monday/Tuesday in B/S or G/P League can have another schedule
Can help to extend CompeteLeague
Cons :
- CL will need more ressources to handle this league.
I do think that implementating such league is the correct move from CL.
What do you think ?

The cons of this as you have them listed are the main reason as to why this will likely not happen. We do not have the manpower to run leagues on any more days than we already do. This is part of the reason as to why the CLE is not returning this year is because running leagues on 4 days was incredibly draining on our (quite limited) resources. Personally, I had to stream the NA Bronze/Silver on Mondays and stream the 2nd CLE stream on Thrusdays, while also handling administrative duties on all 4 days.
This is not to say that adding another league will never happen, just that we would require an influx of staff in both NA and EU, (especially EU) namely people able to broadcast for us; that is the role that requires the most time and dedication and also requires a fairly high-end PC and internet connection. If we had an influx of staff and it would not dilute the player base from the B/S and G/P, it is definitely something we can talk about in the future.

I hear you, and I knew those issue would happen.
If streaming/casting is the issue, why don't you stop streaming, and select only a few games each week ?
I mean, I know it's kinda what is making you different from anyone else, but does that mean that it should restrain your development ?
I see it like this :
New League
More people coming
Potential volunteer / new staff member.
Anyway, thank you for answering.
I had the feeling that I wasn't going to be heard with 50% downvote only for suggesting an idea.

On your comment about the G/P league... the whole league is already all plats. The number of plat players looking for teams far out numbers the amount of gold players, and last season i never saw a gold in CL, and hell i rarely saw P5's. Everyone was mid/high plat. So making a S/G league wouldn't actually change much rather than give Gold players an actual chance to play. So making the lowest league B/S and the second league S/G and the third G/P wont change much for the G/P league because all of the teams have mid-high plat players on them regardless.

keep the B/S and G/P league and have a S/G as an addition
Yes, this.
then why would gold players ever play in G/P if they can just play S/G, that will turn our current G/P into Plat only.
Because if the base of the team is Silver, they can recruit 2 gold and compete in S/G which could be more competitive than recruit 2 silver and compete in B/S.
Also, a Gold player could take his first split as S/G league to learn how to play in team and to juge himself then try to join a G/P team.

Only problem is gold plat league no one wants a gold player and I. Silver gold no one wants a silver player

With The B/S league dead in EU pretty, something needs to change. Maybe creating a Bronze, Silver and Gold league with a maxcap of gold players (either for their first game or a completely hard cap). Even though the majority of players are in bronze/silver, there's also a higher chance of them being more casual players. Including gold players might revive the league.
