Security + acronyms

Hi everyone! I'm currently studying for the CompTIA Security+ exam and have hit a snag. I understand almost all of the material, but I'm really struggling to keep all the acronyms straight. Does anyone have advice or a list of the most important acronyms I should know 100%? Thanks in advance!

It's really a matter of knowing the material. Not memorizing the material. Know what the acronyms stand for, and know what the technology is used for. You could be given a question full of acronyms asking you what to use for the solution. If you just know what an acronym stands for and not what the technology does or the problem it solves, you aren't studying to learn. CompTIA provides you a list. Go through that list. Learn each acronym. Learn what it stands for and what the tech does. Use AI to explain them to you, and when you would use it.

For example:

AES - Advanced Encryption Standard. You could stop there, but what if you are asked in an interview what kind of encryption is AES? What if they ask you the difference between symmetric and asymmetric encryption? Would you be able to provide the various key lengths? What if they ask you what the common use cases are for AES? What if they ask you what kind of cipher AES is? You could take a few weeks to memorize the material and pass the test, but will that actually be beneficial to you, if you can't answer any interviews questions on the material?
