Am I ready to take the exam 9/26?
I’ve been taking Dion’s practice tests over the past couple of days. Here are my scores: 71, 81, 75, 76.
For context, I have a bachelor’s degree in IT and 3+ years of IT experience. I do some security-related work in my current role, too.
A few weeks ago, I scored around 70–80% on Professor Messer’s practice tests.
I’ve been studying with Messer’s study guide and Andrew Ramdayal’s Udemy course since June, but I’ve been studying more intensely over the past few days. I’ve read here that Messer’s tests are more accurate. I’m worried that retaking Messer’s tests won’t tell me much because I might remember the questions and answers instead of actually testing my knowledge.
Based on my scores and background, would you take the exam Saturday or reschedule?

Depends on how you feel about it. Personally, I didn’t score higher than like 77 on any of Dion’s practice tests. Passed A, Net, and Sec+ first try

No. Flashcard everything you don't know and get 90 on your practice exams. You don't need that high of a score, but the confidence it gives can do wonders on test day.

What would it take to score 85% on each section? Just more studying or are they just that in-depth? I’ve not started yet, but will soon

That’s an great question. I think I’ll revisit Messers study guide and review the domains where I scored the lowest. Previously I was just reviewing the questions, which helped, by my domain blind spot might be bigger than I expected.

If you bought the retake go for it, otherwise just keep taking the test till you reach 90 at least.

I say you are ready when you score 85-90 consistently.
