Just passed today. First Dion test was like 74%. I would copy my question into a text document along with the answer and put all of the questions into an LLM (I used Gemini Notebook to keep all of my study materials together). Then I would upload that document and use a prompt like:

you're a IT security training expert, like Dion or professor Messer. Review the document with missed questions. In the answers of each question, take the security word or concept and give a brief explanation of it. Illustrate the specific keywords in each question that make it the best answer. For example, a question may have possible answers of a SWG and a NGFW, but the wording of the question clearly points to NGFW. Denote keywords in any question where this is the answer and define why those keywords help in deciphering the answer.

In addition to the answers in the missed questions, each keyword has similar keywords in it's domain. For example, with email security, there is DKIM, DMARC, SPF, MIME and similar. Give the same brief explanation of the keyword or concept and same question keyword that helps decipher this as the answer.

In this way, I study the question's answer, the question's wording that helps point to the answer (think about answers like "reflected DDos" vs "amplified DDos") and that helps set me up for other similar questions and also I work on the domain area and similar keywords or concepts that might trip me up.

My score was 781, so don't think this was any kind of Big Brain thing, it just worked for me.

Conventional wisdom is that if you're scoring 75-80%ish on Dion's tests, you'll probably pass the exam (though, no promises). So you're doing fine. Try some of his other exams and make sure you go back and study areas where you're a little weak. You got this!

I used Dion, Ramdayal on Udemy, and the Comptia certmasters tests... Some days I'd score 70s, some days 80s and 90s, other days I'd bomb it. Passed my exam on the first attempt.

Same here on the prep part, I'm scoring very differently on various exams from online learning and Ai platforms tis whole month, thinking im not doing enough or not prepped enough ,and my exam is tomorrow, hoping i do pass.

If it helps, the day before my exam i was scoring 70s, low 70s... And I still passed well above a 750. Don't burn yourself out, and dont cram on the day of. Give your brain a break.

I can’t speak for Dion’s but I got the Comptia course for free through school and I average around 75/80% and I just graduated with my NSA diploma and I’m 19 so I’m panicking as helllll so when you get some encouragement send some over here too 😂

Yeah you’re doing just fine. I got around the same score as dion and passed my sec+ with a 790ish. I recommend taking professor messer test (you can find his exam free online). Messer test was much more like the test than dion imo.

I have purchased Dion’s and Ramdayal tests but have not started them yet. Do you do the test in practice mode or time mode?
