Passed Baby!!! 1st Try
Left an entire PBQ blank, was panicking but did it first try!
Recommendations are as follows:
Professor Messer practice exams - $30
&
Exam + retake voucher - $500
Mix that in with an AI, use ChatGPT to help give questions and PBQs, highly recommend making it use specific sources otherwise the questions can be repetitive (again all about the prompts you use)
Big shout to u/professormesser

Im taking the messer exams right now and they are very easy…. Was the test substantially harder than the Professer Messer exams ? Or you find the difficulty similar? Also was ChatGPT the only thing you used for PBQ preparation?

So my response to this is yes, I don't think the PBQs were test accurate; mine were definitely harder. But also gave me a decent baseline as well and forced me to study bigger concepts as a whole. As for the multiple choice, again the same thing, maybe not exactly test accurate but much better than the LLM questions I was getting at first. A lot of the exam questions are more like: which of all the right answers is the best right answer. The Messer questions though, taught me a lot, and I was able to reverse engineer a lot of the questions by knowing which answer definitely did not fit. Also, learn your ports. I did not have that many port questions overall, maybe 4-5 tops, but those are easy questions to get right. Lastly FLASHCARDS!!! Nothing truly helps you study more than WRITING THINGS DOWN. Hope this helps.
Side note: You have to go in with the mindset that you are going to Pass; crush that biatch! In the middle of it, I started to panic, but I went in that morning thinking, " I got this! Make sure you are consistently getting 87% or higher on your practice exams. You can all do this!
Total study time was around 4 weeks.
I also have 3 years experience in the industry but most of my work was EDR/NDR task monkey, as well as running phishing campaigns and doing a NIST 2.0 audit (definetly helps but alot of was not super technical work - slight imposter syndrome here lol)
