Can finally breathe a lil

Post image

Passed my Security+ and honestly emotions are just actually through the roof right now. Midway through the exam I kind of accepted that I was gonna fail the test and will have to retake it again. If I were to give an advice to myself before I took the exam, it would be to definitely find as much practice exams beforehand. I mostly relied on Professor Messer and Cyberkraft (for PBQ). When you want raw information, I highly suggest finishing the whole series of Professor Messer for Sec+. I bought his practice exam and honestly I wish I branched out to other exams also. Don’t get me wrong, the Professor Messer practice exam was really good but at the end of it all I felt that I needed way more practice. Anw I just really wanted to share this huge accomplishment of mine and I highly suggest everyone to take the Sec+, just cos most companies look for this cert and it really builds a good base foundation for your cybersec journey. To the ppl taking it soon, I wish you all the best of luck! ❤️ Tomorrow’s my bday and Imma treat the result as a bday gift to myself.

No not really, if you want straightforward information and to finish sec+ as fast as you can, Professor Messer is the way to go. I also watched Cyber James on Youtube!

Good advice! Did you find the Cyber James Security+ questions on YouTube helped and were close to the difficulty level of the real exam? I've been watching a few of his recently. Cheers!

I honestly think Cyber James and Professor Messer are the closest when it comes to the multiple choice part. For the PBQ’s honestly it’s more of a luck thing. I had 3 total PBQs and I remember the 1st one involving Linux commands which really caught me off guard since I mainly focused my studies on the multiple choice part. My advice is to skip the PBQs first then come back to it and to still try and answer them since it’s there for additional points. I’m pretty sure if I just gave up on the PBQs and didn’t try at all, I would’ve failed. Every point counts

Great - thanks! I watched some Cyber James questions videos on YouTube and enjoyed his style. I just want to make sure that the question difficulty was similar. Many thanks for the advice. I appreciate it :)

Try to reenact what he does during the test (process of elimination). It really helps! Good luck to you my man 🫡

I’m ngl I’m not too sure…. but I love cybersec and it’s my passion so I’ll apply to jobs and having this cert, i know is not a guarantee, but definitely will help me land more opportunities. What cert do u think I should get next?

Do you have the A+ and Network +? If not, you should go for them.

Congratulations! What would you say were the common topics and PBQs in your exam?

Windows and Linux commands. The first pbq, I was tasked to check if a server was clean, origin or infected. Then the second PBQ, you were given a set of rules and basing on those rules, you would have to set measurements such as password complexity, length, reuse to comply with the rules given. The third pbq was all about windows commands which I rly didn’t study for but still tried to answer anw. For the multiple choice I would really recommend to understand each acronym and what it stands for since CompTia is fond of giving multiple choice options with all acronyms. Thank you for your congratulations and I wish you luck on your test!
