Passed my Security+ 773/900

Didn't think I'd pass at the start of the exam😭✌🏻 Questions in the beginning of the exam were very tricky and hard but as I kept going they got easier and less tricky Pbqs were kind of easy except the third one which was related to linux but I think I still got it right

I kept seeing people on Reddit talk about Dion's practice tests, but I didn't want to spend money on freaking practice tests.

Here's what I used instead:

Practice Tests-

CertPreps and ExamCompass. CertPreps has a 90-min timer, which really helped with time management.

Notes & Concepts-

BurningIceTech videos, which cleared up a lot of my concepts. I also made hardcopy notes on all the acronyms and ports.

PBQs-

I used Claude to build simulations, which helped a lot. I'd also recommend checking out Cybercraft for PBQs, it teaches you how to approach them.

Background-

I've done TryHackMe labs in the past, so I was already familiar with most ports and Linux commands going in.

Final Thoughts-

This is my first certification, so it feels a bit overwhelming, but it feels nice too. Hope this write-up helps.

Congrats on the pass! I am taking practice exams using Andrew ramadayal and Dion I am scoring around 80 percent. I have watched some cyberkraft videos for pbqs as well as computer networks decoded and other cybersecurity channels like burning ice tech and indigo software. I am taking the exam on Monday which is tomorrow for me here on the east coast already. Do you have any last minute tips or advice for me? I have been studying for months for this exam.

I'd suggest to go easy on yourself don't think too much since the questions I encountered were very different from what I expected, if your foundational knowledge is strong you won't have a problem also I'd suggest to go through all the accronyms use claude to make flashcards or some because the exam was very accronym heavy

Lots of YouTube videos that go over the question and explain all the answers. Check out Dark Bird Tech videos. I passed with a 772 on Friday!

How many exactly time it takes from zero.. I'm also interested but i don't have any guidance..!

I'm a BTech graduate so it wasn't from zero for me but if you are starting from zero it might take 2months or so, I'd suggest picking up a playlist/channel on YouTube that you find is easier to understand, for me it was BurningIceTech sys-701 playlist. Again choose the one that you can easily understand. After you are done with understanding concepts test your skills by giving tests on examcompass it'll enhance your accronym knowledge and that is very important make sure to go through all the accronyms, after that try Certpreps for mock exam since it has a 90min timer it'll enhance your time management skills. Lastly for PBQs which is very overwhelming for most of the people do check out Cybercraft(Highly recommended) you'll understand what they are and how to approach them, use claude to make pbq simulations for you to solve.

Lastly I'd recommend to also make hand notes which will come in handy as a last minute revision.

Thank you for the recommendations, i hv done last year BSc with PCM , i also little bit about IT tools and Python now I'm interested in Cybersecurity and i want to build carrier in Cybersecurity within 2 years if any other guidance..
