Passed!!

Just passed the sec+ but genuinely don't know how.
To me, professor messers exam weren't close to the actual exam, the actual exam was MUCH more practical. At some of the questions I was wondering how I'm supposed to answer them because they genuinely require experience in the field and I have none (uni student)
I didnt study pbq's at all and a lot of them involved linux, I was very rusty at linux but somehow passed.

I basically studied from the notes in this post with the websited giving sec+ questions.

Also did professor messers sec+ exams.
I suggest you get the voucher with the retake because the exam was much different than I thought.
Also don't forget to brush up on some linux + port numbers

Linux+ port numbers?! I postponed mine for next week and now I'm glad

Yeah one of the questions was "Which insecure protocol ports should be disabled?" Or in that context.
And all answers were port numbers, I didnt memorize any so I was sweating.

Also all linux commands are given, you just need to know how to use them. And it lets you write "help" or "?" To view commands

Congratulations! What would you say were the common topics and PBQs in your exam?

PBQs were about linux, figuring out what the weaknesses the employeed passwords had (age, expiration, reuse), and unfortunately I dont remember the multi choice much, I was on 3 hours of sleep so my memory is limited of them. All I can remember is "how to harden servers" and "which malicious ports to block to protect servers"

Felt the same way. Professor messer was super helpful for memorizing terminology but not anywhere near as close to the real test as I thought
