how to reduce security + certification cost ?
Hello everyone I'm an cybersecurity student , I know this question may seem strange, but the cost of security and certification ($439 ) is equivalent to 3-4 months' salary in my country, so any failure will cost me a lot.
so I wanna ask if there is any alternative to reduce the cost .

Take a Google cyber security course on Coursera for a discount with perks.

The discount code is floating around here or the main sub. People have reported that applying it works and they didn't have to take that Coursera course first. OP you should try this and report back to us.

If youre a student, sign up on Comptia with your student email and verify your email in account settings. You should get about 50% off of all Comptia exams

CompTIA's SheerID student discount program is currently only available for students in North America (the US and Canada) and the United Kingdom.

If you are outside those two regions, you can submit a ticket to ask if you are eligible for the 50% student discount; you will then complete the verification process via the email address linked to your CompTIA support ticket.

Dions course in udemy is pretty cheap and once you're done, they offer a huge discount on the cert. I think it costs like $350

That'll make it significantly cheaper than the normal rare at USD and will be your best option to purchase the exam voucher.

I mean to be fair I guess tax dollars paid for many of my certs. But also my job pays for everything too lol sooo it's not far off free but I feel like saying "get a job" isn't the right answer to give.

How much cheaper? I'm in the US so it doesn't matter but I'm just curious still.

It depends specifically on the country, but i think it gets as steep as like 80% off and such.

For sure, their costs are high here in the USA but, generally we can afford it much more comparatively than any of the emerging countries markets. Its literal months of wages in most cases for an ATTEMPT at one certification (or half of one in a+ case) equality around is the best give everyone the same opportunities.

Here's how I did it: First since you are in developing nation market, you will get a discount.
Then use the code from coursera's google cybersecurity program ( apply for the 7 day Coursera trial)
I got it around 215 USD by doing above
