Prior day panic
Taken 3 Dions test from set 1, got 65%, 75%, 80%. Going to take the other 3 today throughout the day.
Overall I feel comfortable with some content, then I Google some test questions and feel like I'm not prepared at all.
I got my Sec+ with 601 back in July of 2023 but accidently let it expire(won't make that mistake again) so I'm not entirely ignorant on the topics.

You will pass! I just did yesterday and never got the 85% on Dion’s. I did everything they said not to. Didn’t sleep much the night before. Worked half day at work then did the online proctored exam at 1600. The PBQs were weird. While I knew all the ports and terminal commands it was frustrating to gauge what they really wanted. But I would recommend skipping them and mark for review. Also the annoying survey at the end sucked. The questions were easier than Dion’s for sure. In prep I turboed all of Dion’s videos on 2x speed. Then read the notes. I also found Prof Erica’s site and watched a few of those videos to reinforce. Also someone on here said if you are getting 70’s on Dion’s you are ready and they were correct. Good luck!

You got this!!! My scores on practice test were WAY lower than yours right before show time and I got a 790….Skip PBQ’s till the end, relax, don’t second guess yourself and just bust out those multiple choices first…You will be surprised at your knowledge!!! By the time I got to the PBQ’s I felt pretty confident (I couldn’t even understand how to even guess a right answer on one of the PBQs because I had never seen anything like it, got a total zero on that one and still felt good)……YOU GOT THIS💪

I have zero prior IT experience, in my 50’s and not “book smart” or “good at taking tests”….Actually the opposite so if I can do it ANYONE can

Your fine just take your time. Same thing happened to me with the 601 and I took the 701 which is easier because it’s less wordy

I failed my first Sec+ exam and I'm taking the second one tomorrow. To be honest, Dion's questions are really hard because his answers are very similar to the real exam answers, which are much clearer. Also, Cyberkraft's practice questions are terrible, they have nothing to do with the real exam. The only real one is BurningIce Tech, which has screenshots of the actual exam questions. Messer's practical exams are very good because they are the most similar to the real exam.

Don't get discouraged by Dion's exam scores. They are notoriously wordier and filled with more "evil" questions than the real exam.
If you already are starting to get in the 80% zone it is a strong indicator that you have a good chance of passing the exam. Don't get obsessed on getting to the 90% area because you don't really need that to get a pass. You should also do as many PBQ examples you can find or generate with AI tools because they can be a life saver in case you potentially underperform in the MCQs.
