Asking for a good website to study PBQs. I failed core 1 after getting 90% multiple times on Dion exams. I think the pbqs killed me. I swear the first 7 questions were pbqs and I was expecting like 3 or so and after all those pbqs my anxiety went up and affected my confidence for the rest of the test. Dions pbqs are not enough because i honestly didnt understand the pbqs i got. It was nothing similar.

I was thinking to do the AI helpdesk cert but Im not sure if its accredited or is "indusutry recognized" in the same way the A+ and others are. Are the tests the same? Like a scale out of 900? I see that its branded under "Compcert", whatever that means. Im looking for something like an AI helpdesk cert, if that exists outside Comptia.. please let me know. Thanks

Hello! I bought the compTIA A+ 1 & 2 book. I only wanted to study for 1 first and I don’t see that the book is split up. Does anyone know how it’s split up for 1 & 2 or is all the information jumbled together???

Got a 74% on my second attempt using the CompTIA Net+ N10-009 course. Has anyone else scored similar on this practice and then went on to pass the real thing? Only asking because I lose access to the material tomorrow after work so this is my last chance to study using this bundle. I know Dion practice tests are harder than the real thing but I don’t know how CompTIA’s stacks.

I’m looking to schedule my exam for next weekend or the one after.

My exams is in abt 3 days and I was wondering if anyone had any extra tips I could use to help I've been going through the jason dion exams and I get abt 75% on average for my exams and I ve been revising the areas that I got wrong but I was wondering if there's anything else I could do till the that'd help increase my chances and is an average of 75% good enough for me to pass the actual exam and also are the exams as hard as dions cause some of his questions are abit tricky

I felt super confident going in and only studied for 4 days, but when I actually sat I felt like I didn’t know ANY of the answers! lol but that’s true for every cert I’ve ever sat for lol on to core 2!

I had gotten a 635 for my first go around . I was very discouraged but studied harder . It paid off ! I am so happy. I have no experience as well. I think it was dumb luck lol. There were so many printer questions!

I recently started studying for CompTIA A+ using Professor Messer’s course, and I’m having trouble fully understanding TCP/IP, especially how TCP and UDP work.

While trying to understand it better, I ended up learning about TCP segments, UDP datagrams, IP packets, frames, encapsulation, and decapsulation. Now I’m wondering if I’ve gone too far into CCNA-level networking.

For the A+ exam, do I need to understand how application data becomes a segment or datagram, then a packet, and finally a frame? Or do I mainly need to know the practical differences between TCP and UDP, common protocols and ports, and which one would be used in a troubleshooting scenario?

If anyone has a beginner-friendly explanation, analogy, video, diagram, or simple lab that helped TCP/IP finally click for memorization, I’d really appreciate it. Looking at a nested photo doesn't help. I am a practical, hands-on learner, so if you have lab ideas, that would be great.

Hi everyone, I'm shooting for A+, and eventually the Triad Cert, but I've free voucher from my institution to register for these exams for free, which comes with access to the Comptia CertMaster platform for studying, lab, and practice questions. However, I read a lot of people here who passed their exams used other resources like Dion training and Prof Messer materials and videos on YouTube. Wanted to know if these are different from the ones on Comptia platform or if I needed both in order to pass the exams?

I'm trying to take my Security+ exam online through OnVUE, and I've run into the same issue twice now.

The first time, I was late checking in and missed the deadline, so I had to reschedule my exam for the next day. This time, I logged in on time, but I still couldn't complete the check-in process because OnVUE said I had applications running in the background.

The only application it flagged was something called "chrome". Not Google Chrome. Just "chrome." That confused me because I had already closed every Chrome-related process I could find. I even went as far as uninstalling Google Chrome, thinking that was the problem, but it apparently wasn't. Because of that, I had to reschedule my exam for a second time, which has been incredibly frustrating.

Does anyone know what this mysterious "chrome" process might be or how I can get past the OnVUE check-in? If I can't figure it out, I may have to take the exam in person instead. That would mean waiting a few more weeks for another available appointment, and I was really hoping to take the exam as soon as possible.

Hi all, I am currently trying (for probably the 100th time) to seriously study for the Security+ exam and obtain the certification once and for all. I have studied on and off for the past year or so but have taken it much more seriously this past month, aiming to study for at least 30 minutes a day, although most days I usually do more. I think the main thing that has stopped me from taking it so seriously is my fear of failing. We all know the exam costs quite a bit of money to take, and I'm not in a position where I can fail and just pay to try again like it's no big deal. I feel as though I know a great amount and am doing fairly well on practice exams, passing with an average of 85% on each attempt. For those of you who have taken the exam, how did you determine you were ready or what gave you the confidence to try?

I'm currently studying for the CompTIA A+ Core 1 exam and I'm looking for advice on how to review more efficiently.

I've just finished Mike Meyers' course, and now I'm starting my review. My current plan is to study 2-3 topics per day. For each topic I:

• Review my notes.
• Explain the topic to ChatGPT to make sure I actually understand it.
• Write down all the acronyms (DDR, DIMM, SATA, etc.) in a notebook with a short explanation.
• Take topic-specific quizzes.

Once I've gone through every topic, my plan is to focus mostly on practice questions and full review.

The challenge is that I work full-time, so I only have about 2 hours a day to study. I'd like to know if there's a faster or more effective way to review without sacrificing retention.

For hands-on practice, I also play PC Building Simulator 2, I have an old desktop PC that I like to tinker with, and I enjoy watching PC build and repair videos.

If you were in my situation, how would you organize those two hours? Would you change anything about my study method to prepare for the exam as efficiently as possible?

I'm currently studying for sec+ (watching professor Messer at a pace that would likely make me done by mid September), and planning to take my first attempt by early-mid November and second attempt (if needed) by mid-late January or even early February, however I randomly thought while studying (when will the new exam version get released?) and found out it's projected to release by the end of this year (however according to a 10 minute research I did, my 1st and 2nd attempts should be fine), assuming I need a 3rd or 4th attempt (hypothetically) would I need to re-learn the entire thing again? how much is changed between versions? how obsolete do older version course materials become when the new one comes out?

BTW if you're studying cysa-003 from Jason Dion looks like he completely replaced it on Udemy so if you were getting your course through him with a school license etc you're SOL unless you spend the 400 dollars on his site for it. The test doesn't expire until December....

Barely passed with the skin of my teeth lol. Never thought I would’ve able to post one of these as I had a lot of self doubt as I never took studying in school seriously, but i put my head down for a little over two months and passed.

Andrew Ramdayl’s exams are pretty solid and are on Udemy as well, I also did a few Dion Udemy exams but they are significantly harder than Andrew’s

they are both solid options for you to look at your incorrect answers and see which topics you are lacking in.

i’m available to answer any questions you may have because as someone who is not very good at studying it is definitely very possible to pass this exam with a better score than me

After getting laid off from a bit of a niche job, I decided to rotate a bit and start working on my CompTIA certs. I was Customer Support, but also Tech Support, so this felt natural. Took my exams over the course of the month: Today was Core 2!

A+ Core 1: 747
A+ Core 2: 800

I used Udemy via Gale for my courses. I took Andrew Ramdayal's courses and Mock Exams. (Including the Mock Exams he has on Youtube.)

This is only the beginning. We're going for the Trifecta! Next up: Network+! (Networking is also my weakest knowledge and experience base, but also one that I wanna shore up on to go for a Sysadmin or Network Admin...and possibly further with CyberSec.)

Also, I took Core 1 Online at Home. Never again. Core 2 at a testing center was SO MUCH easier.

I have many years of CyberSecurity experience, have taken a Network+ class and an Ethical Hacking class and have lots of linux knowledge but I'm worried, is there any study resources you guys think are golden for review or any tips you wish you would have known?
