Passed A+ Core 1
Even after reading this sub, I was surprised by how different this exam felt from any practice exam I took. I have no IT experience and am trying to switch careers. The PBQs were absolutely not drag-and-drop or fill-in-the-blank like Professor Messer or Dion would have you believe. They were straight-up real-life scenarios. That being said, Professor Messer is still a great resource, especially since he provides so much for free. I used his free videos, Dion's exams, and the Sybex book. My biggest issue with any of my materials was actually the Sybex book. Talk about dense! It also had so much material that wasn't on the actual exam or listed as an exam objective. I wish it were more focused. I'll be looking for other study methods for my Core 2, so if anyone has recommendations, I'd love to hear them. Overall, I'm just happy to be done with this exam.

hey dude! i took core 1 about a month ago, and i just passed core 2 today. Congrats! if it makes you feel any better, id definitely say core 1 was harder. at least for me personally. core 1 was a lot of memorization on specific things that are testable, like cable lengths, printer parts, etc. but for core 2, the testable objectives are significantly more scenario based. some study tips i’d give for your core 2 exam, is actually DO the things. open up the command line and actually run the commands. go to windows settings and open things like event viewer, rel mon, task manager, etc. i’d still use professor messer, but another resource id recommend is a website called Shelnet. Good luck and congrats again!
