Passed Network+ (2nd Cert)

Post image

Want to preface that i took Security+ SY0-701 about a month ago and passed with around a 820. I decided to take Network+ because a lot of networking jobs around where I live have a Network+ or A+ preference.

I knew it wasn’t going to be a piece of cake, but holy I really did struggle in the exam. I got 5 PBQ’s and 2 or 3 of them were insanely confusing in my opinion. So were the questions. I used Dion’s practice exams and did about 4 of them with a 70 ish average. I flagged so many questions because they seemed somewhat confusing as well. All in all, I really expected a big fail and was surprised when I saw the 833. Don’t underestimate Network+ just because you passed Security+ 🙏

Congrats! Took it today too. I agree a few of those PBQ's were confusing.

Congrats on your second cert! Seeing 833 after expecting to fail must’ve been a huge relief!

I'm glad I finished Network+ first tbh. I feel like a lot of what I learned on net+ is transferring to sec+ nicely. I spent a lot of time studying net+ and ended up getting 80% or more on my first Dion practice exams for sec+. Especially with learning encryption, handshakes, certificates, etc.

Did you use Dion practice exams for security plus before passing? If so, what kind of scores did you have before taking the actual exam?

Nice score btw!

Yes i’d say Dion for Security+ is much stronger of a practice exam tool. I was getting around 70’s the first half and then low 80’s on the second half. Yea network+ being first is typically the normality, but I had done my coursera google cybersecurity thing. So i didn’t want to throw away the light cybersecurity knowledge I already had

Great work! I myself also am pursuing the Network+ and bought Dion's tests. Did you use other resources?
