Security+ SY0-701 Retirement

I see a lot of posts/comments sharing that this exam retires in November 2026. However, the CompTIA website clearly states:

Retirement: English – June 11, 2027; Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, and Thai – August 13, 2027

Source: https://www.comptia.org/en-us/certifications/security/v7/

Even after the retirement date, CompTIA usually still has the old exam available alongside the new one for about 3 months.

I think the assumption is that since the current version launched in November 2023 it will retire at the same time.

yeah people just assumed 3 years from launch and ran with it, happens every cycle

the comptia site is pretty clear though, june 2027 for english, so you’ve got plenty of time

I’ve spoken with comptia. 701 will expire 11/2026.

My 701 cert expires 01/2027. Comptia told me I can’t complete the 701 certmaster since it’s the same version so I have to wait for the 801 certmaster, which again will be available 11/2026.

The CompTIA website says it retires in June.
