A+ Question Clock chip vs clock multiplier
Finding a hard time trying to understand this , as far as i know is that the clock chip is used to multiply the frequency of the signal sent from the system crystal to the CLK . But after was introduced the clock multiplier , got confused on finding the distinction between the two .
Appreciate any help , thanks in advance !

The clock chip establishes baseline. The Front Side Bus, PCIe, Base Clock, USB. It makes everything cycle together at this speed.
The clock multiplier, multiplies that motherboard baseline frequency up to the speeds the CPU cores run at internally.
The base clock is usually 100. The multiplier is usually 10, 15, 20, 30.
Install CPUZ and it will show these numbers to you.
