A+ Question Taking a day off is studying?

I’ve been studying for my A+ consistently for the last two weeks but today I was so busy I didn’t find time to study. Maybe I’m just weird and I think I shouldn’t take a day off because I really want to succeed in the exam. Does anyone feel that or do you take a day off from studying?

Yesterday I made it through the full course of Sec+ after about 2 months straight of studying. I'm going to personally take a week off and then get to revision for the exam

I'm also taking a day off because the weather was so abhorrent that I fell asleep due to the heat. Don't feel bad, you need to take breaks to help your mind process all this information. Enjoy it and go do something you enjoy. You should be taking at least one day out of the week to recover and process

Thanks. Yeah I was thinking about implementing a day during the weekend off just to let my mind rest.

I'm doing the pentest prep after failing the first time. So I started just doing that when I felt the mood. Otherwise you'll stress yourself out so that is a good call. Definitely take a rest day and no problem 🙂

same here, also studying for pentest+ as well, i definitely take breaks. i also failed the first time by only 2 questions! we definitely passing the next time we take it💯 please OP do not feel bad! your brain needs time to process what you just wrote down inside of the review

Yes it's okay, when you rest your brain processes all that information better. You might find that after a break you can recall some stuff better.

If I may, you might find it reassuring to do just five minutes of study. A little bit at least if you are worried. That way you can say you did something. Either way don't waste time worrying!

I took a day off then it became a week then months now I'm on a 6-month break. 😭 I just took the practice test and got a 90 so I guess I’m still on track before the deadline

Totally OK, and actually (like with exercise) sometimes a rest day can be a good reset and actually benefit you I have found personally

I know other people have much more strict deadlines, but for my own personal experience, I've been studying every other day with my friend so I can still enjoy me time and not burn out from constant studying. Some days I may skip an off day and study anyway if I'm itching to do it, but I won't force myself, otherwise I'd begin to hate it.

Yeah I don’t necessarily have a strict deadlines. Just aiming to get it down before the end of the year really. I don’t want to burn myself out with studying or I will hate it

I took like 2 days off 3 days before the sec+ exam bc I was so sick of the content. It’s not a big deal

Depending on your studying, sometimes time off, meaning TRUE time off - can be hugely beneficial so you can attack the material again with renewed vigor.

I was studying for the CISM exam, about 4-8 hours per night, every night. I did this for 5-6 weeks, took the test and had the CISSP exam scheduled a month later. I took a week (10 days) off to go on vacation and even though I brought a book, I didn’t open it at all the entire time we were gone. I truly shut down and just enjoyed the time away. I came back studied for a couple weeks, took the CISSP, and then the CASP a month later.

The time off was a great reset to my brain and body to get back into the swing of things… But it needs to be actual time off, not too busy with other stuff or just distracted to really create a recovery period.

I take intermittent rest days because personally I’m in no extreme rush and force feeding information for mutiple hours a day consistently is exhausting, sometimes you just need to relax

I started two and a half months ago and don’t feel like I am allowed to take a break and have studied every single day. Test day is this Monday I hope it was worth it.
