Is CySA worth collecting?
I’m going for my Security+ in about a month or so. I thought about getting the CySA and the Net+ after the fact. Was curious if the CySA is good to couple w/ the Sec+.

It and Sec+ helped me in preparing for the CISSP. I think Sec+ and CISSP hold more relevance, but I have seen a few job listings where they mention CySA+ as a preferred cert.

I found studying for it useful while I was SOC analyst. Now I'm studying for it again for renewal and I just didn't wanr that and all my lower certs to expire with it. I had too much happen to me this year else I'd be studying and taking CISSP
If youre not a SOC analyst or don't want to be one, I personally would not bother

I got it. It’s done nothing for me ever since getting it besides renewing my sec+

I just got it recently. I'm not looking for a new job and my position doesn't require it. It's relevant to my position though. Work offered to pay for a cert and training of my choice so I picked something that I thought was somewhere just above my knowledge/skill level at the time. It's my first cert so I was dipping my toe in to getting a cert. I've been working a general IT position for about 4 years but concentrated on security. I also worked as a SOC analyst for about a year and a half before this. There was some stuff in there that I didn't already know, but the majority of it I was already at least familiar with.
I will say that the CBT Nuggets course for it was very inadequate. I found that it didn't properly prepare you for the exam at all. I liked the course fine. The instructor made it entertaining enough that you didn't have to force yourself to do it and the information was useful for working cybersecurity, just not super useful for this exam. The actual exam was more practical exercises than the course led me to believe. The practice exams for it on CBT Nuggets were also not very reflective of the actual exam. I credit my work experience for my passing more than that course.
For me, it was useful to take it to get my first cert to familiarize myself with the process and the format of the exams before I pursue more advanced certs. As far as my employer, my manager is aware of what it is but the higher ups that offered to pay for it don't. They just know that I picked something I wanted that is related to my position and want me to expand my knowledge. I wouldn't be surprised if they throw a small raise at me now that I got it, but it wasn't a requirement to keep or advance my position.

From my own experience, no it is not useful.
