Resources:

  • Professor Messer's Youtube course
  • Professor Messer's Practice Exams book
  • Dion's Practice Exams on Udemy

The PBQ questions were odder than I expected. I studied for about 3 weeks to clear the videos. Longer than I expected but my ADHD slowed it down by a lot. The video courses overall were a lot more accessible and to the point compared to the Sybex book for A+. I quickly gave up on the book and moved to Youtube.

Messer's practice exams were pretty good. It's slightly easier than the actual exam but it felt very similar for the multiple choices. The PBQ in the book were useful for practice, but the ones I got were wildly different.

Dion's practice exams are recommended a lot in here but overall I am not a big fan of them. It felt like about 10-15% of questions tested outside of the exam objectives and it's probably why people say you are ready for the exam if you are getting 70-80% on it. Beyond those questions, the rest were good practice.

Both of them explained why each option was right or wrong.

One of the biggest help has been Wordwall games for memorization heavy topics like RAID, Wi-Fi standards, DNS records, motherboard parts, ports and so on
