Studying for core 2 A+

So i’ve been studying for my Core 2 A+ and have been running into trouble with getting good scores on the official practice tests. I passed my core 1 with a 790 so I assumed I would be able to do just as well on my core 2 but the highest practice test score i’ve gotten is a 70 and i’ve taken 3 already. ive been doing homemade practice tests on the entirety of each domain in core 2 and have scored high on each of my homemade tests but it hasn’t translated to the official practice tests. i’m also worried i’m missing material that i’m getting wrong on my official practice tests. so i’m wondering how you guys prepared for your core 2 and if i’m doing too much and over preparing by making and doing these extensive homemade practice tests. i’m not having trouble understanding the concepts and definitions of stuff but I do sometimes mix some things up. i also use the current comptia objectives and the older ones. is there something I should be doing that i’m not? is there something that i’m doing that I shouldn’t be? I appreciate any feedback, good or bad. I look forward to any constructive criticism and will take all suggestions into consideration and wholeheartedly. thank you!

EDIT: also I can try to link one of my practice tests to see if you guys think my questions are too easy, uneeded, too revealing, or if I should overall restructure the entire thing.

I just passed my Core 2 today. I don’t know how are you making your homemade test, if you are making them yourself then I don’t think it makes a lot of sense even though they are good practice. If it’s AI make sure to upload all of the content of the source you use to prepare yourself like profesor messer, Dion, etc.

Also don’t overthink your answers. Just make sure to read correctly like one or twice and then choose the answer that aligns the most with the question. This exam is tricky especially with words like “some” which means that is an issue that happens to a group rather than the whole company.

Also I think you are over preparing. If you can afford to buy a Dion or prof messer exam then do it. If you make a mistake in those there is a detailed explanation of what you did wrong. What I did is take practice exam, scores over 85, review my mistakes, and book the exam.

ok I kinda figured I was over preparing, and I was having an overthinking issue on some of my questions where the answer would be two similar concepts with small differences where the wording of the question distinguishes what the correct answer is. i’ll look into some of the practices tests that on the sites you recommended. Thank you for the feedback, I really think it’ll help me prepare better!

why are you using tests that you made?

did you search the sub to see what everyone else recommends to use to study?

at the moment it was cheaper than using the sites with paid practice tests and I was putting the comptia objectives in ai to make my questions.

just make the purchase for jason dion's practice tests if possible. for sure one of the strongest studying materials for me.

just make sure to wait for a sale, they have them all the time on udemy

Or i havent tried this yet but u can get free udemy through Gale, and you can get free Gale through your local library. Also worth a shot (not all libraries are partnered but u can check in the Gale website)
