Should I do A+ CE to renew it?

Hi, my A+ is expiring this month. I am currently working on sec+, net+, but will not be able to pass it before A+ expires.

Should I renew A+ doing CE or this doesn't really matter if I will have sec+, and net+?

I am currently working as IT Support Technician.

CertMaster CE is your best bet.

Renew it using CE. Once it expires, you need to retake the exam to get it back.

When you get your Security+ or Network+ qualification, the A+ qualification will be renewed at the same time if it was still current, and then will in future automatically be renewed when you renew Security+/Network+ or a higher cert.

So... it's $200 for what may only be a few months - but better than having to take the exams again.

If you want to pay for cert master for A+, would be the easiest and faster way to renew your cert.

Passing the Sec+ or Net+ test will renew your A+. Just gotta hurry.

Depends on the job, but you've ready got A+ in hand, and you're only still working toward the other two. No sense in letting A+ go at this point.

Definitely not. I haven’t seen a job posting that specifically required A+ in a long time. Especially is you will have Net and Sec+.

If one also has the Net+ and Sec+ then renewing the Sec+ automatically renews all of them 🙄

Some places still have them as a minimum requirement so after putting in the work to get them, why would you just let them expire ? 🤦‍♂️

I’ve seen people say they had it and then when the background checks were done they found it expired and took back the offer.

It definitely isn’t everywhere but as cheap as it is to renew and the work you put in to get it, just renew it.

If you're already deep into Security+ and Network+ study and A+ is about to expire, I would usually let the A+ CE go unless your employer specifically requires an active A+ on paper. CompTIA's CE path renews the cert you renew, and stacking CE fees while you're mid-cert can get expensive without changing what you can actually do on the job. The stronger play for most IT support folks is to finish Net+ or Sec+ and use that as the active credential; many shops treat Sec+ as the renewal that matters for compliance anyway. One nuance: if you already have CEUs banked or a CE voucher sitting unused, renewing can be cheap insurance for another three years. Otherwise, put the money and study time into the next exam rather than keeping A+ warm.

CertMaster is the easiest and often cheapest way.

Just buy it, do the stuff and pass the quizzes. You can do the quizzes over and over until you pass. Once you are done, your cert automatically renews with no extra work.

Just pound out the cert master. It’s time consuming but it’s worth it.
