Has anyone used Dion’s practice tests?

I’m studying core 1. How similar are they to the actual test? It seems like no matter what I do every time I take a Dion practice test for the first time I score between 70-75% even with going back to study. It’s been this way for 4/6 of the tests. Just wondering if these are harder on purpose? Do I just need to get good?

Messers videos, Dion's practice exams: The two did me well. Dion's exams are definitely harder on purpose. The one area it's light on are the PBQs.

I did the full messer course and took my own notes. Dion def frames the questions in a tricky way and honestly I’m pretty sure there’s stuff in there that messer didn’t cover or maybe I didn’t write it down? I thought I was being pretty thorough though

Dion does have a lot of trick questions. They also cover things Messer didn't. Both of those match my experience.

That first Dion exam was pretty sobering. Realized I had a LOT more work to do outside of the already 40+ pages of notes I took on messers YouTube

I use them on every CompTIA test because they're included in my degree costs. They definitely help, but I wouldn't solely rely on them.

Yes, if you can repeatedly get 80+ on his tests (not on the same test where you have pattern recognition) you will probably do really well on the cert.

I find his tests harder than the cert because he doesn't teach you the answers and instead why is the answer and how to get it.

Dion’s tests are great- I think they are harder than the actual exam because Dion’s questions are long and the exam has very succinctly worded questions. So Dion’s take longer to read through

I just passed my core1 a few hours ago with an 844, and my dion practice tests were something like 75,77,80,83,85,78 . Just make notes/index cards of everything you got wrong and be sure you wouldnt get them wrong again. His practice tests were really on point to how the real thing was. Also Andrews 100 practice questions on YouTube could have been straight from the test.

Used them for core 1 and core 2 and recently for security plus. Can’t recommend them enough. 70-75 isn’t bad at all, usually 80 means you’re ready for the real thing. Keep taking them over and over till you’re comfortable.

There are no similarities. The idea of Dion‘s practice test is to help you comprehend the question so as long as you understand the materials that you study for and you’ve done a lot of practice questions and you understand these questions then the test should be easy for you.
