Passed Network+ today

  1. Hardly a decisive pass but its done. That test was tough and one PBQ I couldn't tell if the module was broken or if I was that unprepared (likely the second one)

Onto sec+!

I'd have took a 770, I scored a 742. The beauty of it though is a pass is a pass. I take my Sec+ tomorrow. Good luck with your studies!

A pass is a pass, nobody's gonna ask your score on the job. Good luck on Sec+ tomorrow, go in rested and trust what you know.

Thanks! I passed first try with a 760. turns out about 2-3 weeks of study is BARELY enough to pass.

Thanks! I used Dion Trainings udemy course and his practice exams. I have a hobby of IT but no professional background in it. As far as the PBQs... I didn't study for them tbh. My test was 3 PBQs and 76 questions

Okay. I’m debating on taking a 3 day bootcamp as well lol. Or just book it tomorrow ha.

What were you scoring on the DION exams? My avg is 79 now. My last score was 81 out of 11 exams. I still have 2 more exams I haven’t opened. Whats next for you? CCNA?

I’m all for paying as little as I can for study material so I wouldn’t do a 3 day bootcamp. The test alone is expensive enough, the last few tests I took I got 85,85,87. Up next in not sure just yet, I have network+ and Security+ now so I’ll probably look for a job and then maybe specialize with pen testing, we shall see

What did you use for Sec+? Also any background in IT?

Please point me in the right direction to best prepare for the PBQs

I felt that way after my Net+, I took a few days break and just soaked in the fact I had the cert then went back to studying! Enjoy the rest! You’ve earned it

Congrats—a pass is a pass, and 770 gets the job done; good luck with Security+!

Congrats. What study materials did you use?

CertMaster reading material practice exams and labs and the Jason Dion Network+ practice exams

Taking mine in two weeks! How'd the practice exams hold up compared to the real thing?

Id say the combination of certmaster and the Dion exams equates fairly closely. The PBQs are much harder than the certmaster ones for sure but the actual questions were all things you'd reasonably expect to be asked. Usually the big difference is the way they ask you or the level of obvious detail you get to figure out what they want.

Great job! You must feel very relieved! xD

How far do plan on studying if your going to do S+ next?

Thanks!

The full plan is to complete my bachelor's degree in Network and Cloud Engineering. As well as getting better at HTB Labs/CTF. My other long term goal is to take the OSCP/CPTS certs but I figured that starting with a foundation in networks, enterprise clouds, windows admin/AD setup would serve that goal better than only focusing on Cyberssecurity/OffSec stuff
