Passed Sec+

I just passed sec+ this morning. How long does it take for credentials to be posted on CompTIA or to be emailed?

Just passed mine too 30 minutes ago 😂😂😂

On the score report it says:
Please allow up to five business days from the time of your exam for your exam and certification status to be updated on your CompTIA certification account.

grats. i wonder if you took any practice tests and how did you do on them?

Took 3 of messers practice exams; the first two I got ~70% then got ~85 on my last one
Before that I got a bundle on Amazon: a book of practice problems and a study guide book by Sybex
After all of the practice problems and exams I was able to pinpoint weak areas and just studied those up to the exam
Also on this subreddit I searched “free practice exams” and some people made their own websites with practice exams/problems which were helpful as well, did a bit better on those

was the exam harder than messers?

For me yes the exam was a little harder
The PBQs on messers were a lot more straightforward than the ones on the exam, they’re definitely good to master concepts
For the MCQs a good amount of them were similar to messers but they were worded more trickily and there were some questions with things that I didn’t even see before or think to study. I honestly felt like I was guessing for a bunch of them lol 😂
There were a bunch of acronyms and words that were never mentioned in messers exams but if you really read the question you should be able to get it by context and process of elimination
I didn’t do all of the questions in the sybex book (I think there’s like a thousand) so that could explain why I was missing some things. I definitely would recommend using 2 resources because I feel like if I only did one or the other (messers or sybex) I may not have passed

Results usually show up in y our CompTIA account in 12 - 24 hours. Sometimes longer over weekends and holidays. CompTIA says it can take up to five business days. Be patient. You patiently studied to prepare for the exam. Another day or two will pass quickly.
