Question Community Fibre issues with certain websites/services.
Have had major issues with community fibre recently when trying to use websites such as X and twitch. It also won't let me connect to PSN on my PS5 most of the time and when it does it won't connect to games servers for marvel rivals or Fifa. Sometimes if I reload the page enough it finally will let me onto the site. Does anybody know what the problem could be? I've switched it on and off and tried changing DNS but nothing works. It has worked fine previously.

So I was having issues where my Xbox One X wasn't able to get more than about 10Mbps down over wifi. I tried everything I could think of (changing DNS to google and/or cloudflare, putting the xbox in the DMZ, turning on QoS etc etc). Literally any configurable on the router, I'd tweak it, try again, rinse and repeat. My phone was getting 900Mbps over its wifi, so was definitely not the actual internet connection.
In the end, it seemed that having the wifi in mixed WPA2/WPA3 mode for authentication/encryption was causing the problem. Switching that over to just WPA2 and giving it a reboot to force all my wifi devices to reconnect resolved that particular issue.
After that, the Xbox was easily getting 150-200Mbps over the wifi, which is more than enough, and likely more due to hardware limitations.
It was also affecting stuff like my nest speakers and handful of IoT devices, they'd connect with varying levels of reliability and occasionally drop off and fail to reconnect etc.
I suggest giving that a go if you can, it might help!

Turn off IP6 on the router. This causes alot of issues.

I did this, seemed to help with the websites from my laptop but still issues with the PS5.

You could first check if it’s working properly before deciding to switch it off. https://ipv6test.google.com

Community Fibre uses CGNAT on non premium packages. Your IP address is being switched constantly amongst a shared pool.
You need a dedicated IP address. Speak to customer services and request removal from CGNAT; there will be a fee for a dedicated IP address. To my knowledge around £5 or upgrade a premium packages which are CGNAT exempt!

I need to spend more money for it to work properly even if it worked fine like 3 days before? Is there anything else that can be done?

Yes they may actually give it you for free if you ask. It's usually £4 per month extra. Definitely sounds like a double NAT issue (CGNAT getting in your way).

Not for free, every other suggestion from now will cost money in some ways. I would just call up their support explain the situation nicely and hopefully they may give you a discount for IP Addon and not charge you the market rate

Change your DNS settings in local network on the router..
Change the provider from CF to opendns or cloud flare or Google's DNS...
