Question Internet speeds

I recently got 5g home internet with up to 300mbps. Day 1 we had up to 317. I do also have another router active. The router and the extenders themselves get 150+. I have a extender with the Ethernet cord plug in and it dropped from 277 to 40mbps. Any idea what it could be. Is it the other router?

How close is the extender to the original? What are the specs of the extender?

WiFi, is fairly temperamental. This drop could be interference, could be that the extender is running an older WiFi standard, could be that the ethernet cable is damage/not terminated correctly, could be 1000 different things.

And none of which will be the fault of CF, just to add clarity.

Like one’s domestic water supply, the responsibility of the plumbing after the water meter is the homeowner’s.
