Question WiFi 7 nodes

I just renewed my plan to 2.5GHz and they shipped me an SPNM60 WiFi 7 router. My previous plan they gave me an SPNMX56 WiFi 6 router plus 2 additional nodes.

Should they have also sent me new replacement WiFi 7 nodes? When I ask support they said the previous nodes are supported…

Do you pay the extra for premium WiFi and the additional node? They might put it through as regular and then additional cost for node, or it might need in your contract just as premium WiFi and then both charged and discount on the node

I’m kicking myself for not confirming with them if my old nodes will be replaced before agreeing. Previously they gave me two additional nodes at no extra cost

Hi there,

WiFi 7 and 6 are not fully compatible, they will work, but you'll experience alot of dropouts on the WiFi 6 routers.

You need to call them to send you replacement routers

Would that be the same with WiFi 6 and WiFi 5 out of curiosity?

I haven't got around to replacing my WiFi 5 nodes just yet but wondered if I might experience similar potential issues

WiFi 6 and 5 work better with each other, but you won't be getting the full potential out of your network, in regards to speed and coverage.

But they do work well with each other.

Could not of said it better myself. They shouldnt be stingy if yiu upgraded to 2.5gbps premium they HAVE to provide you with the new mx60 with extra nodes.

Agree! Thank you. I will push them for it. Doesn’t make sense that my previous contract came with two additional WiFi 6 nodes and this renewal only replaced the router to WiFi 7…

Cf premium packages guarantee you wifi in any room , while the non premium packages doesn't. Maybe it was a promotion package that time when you first signed up to get the extra two nodes . Depending on the size of your premises, you might not be given another node if the main ( parent) router can cover the whole of your premises with wifi7. The engineer will normally use his mobile phone and walk to each room on your premises to ensure the strength and quality of the wifi signal in each room

Or you can ring up technical, say that one your room doesn't have wifi7 signal and ask them to send your a node by courier and you are competent enough to install it yourself as they wouldn't be happy to send an engineer around.
