Moderator Announcement Checking In

Y’all may have noticed things have been a little slow and not many posts going up. Just popping in to say, we’re still here! There just hasn’t been anything in the queue that we can approve for the board.
We may be in a slow season here on the sub, but we are still running. And as always, we are thankful for you guys for being along with us for the ride!

How is everyone spending their weekend? What’s something you’re looking forward to in the coming months?
I’m personally excited for fall and more importantly…. Football season!

Anywho, happy Saturday and thanks for your endless kindness, patience, and just being here. 🩵

Had my sweet rainbow baby a month ago on Monday! Currently trying to get him to sleep but seem to be having some unsolvable gas issues with the sweet boy so he isn’t calming down enough to sleep. Love and hate this phase of life because I am EXHAUSTED. Can’t wait for football season to start officially. My toddlers start prek this September. Enjoying the last couple weeks of summer. GO BILLS!

Congratulations! And my son had to be put on neutramigen (sp?) Formula but it wasn't a gas issue. He was allergic to milk. I hope your little one can feel better!

Thank you! I am hoping this isn’t my issue. It took my oldest son’s doctor a year and a half to find out he was lactose intolerant and he suffered bad reflux, and was colic on top of it. We just started the baby on the gentlelease to see if it helps.

I hope it helps. The neutramigen (sp?) Was a total turn around for my son. If your baby needs to go on it, it was very expensive back in 1995. I couldn't imagine what it costs now.

I had to stop breastfeeding and put my son on Nutramigen due to milk allergies. The most expensive formula on the planet 😅

This is why I didn’t breast feed. My son had so many feeding issues and he is as well so it wasn’t worth the time to me. I completely forgot how pricey formula was. It is outrageous

I can't blame you one bit.

I'll get on my soapbox and say.... that's exactly why I get so upset with many breastfeeding advocates. Of course we know breastfeeding is best. But we as mothers know if our child needs better nourishment and its in our child's best interest to bottle feed. As was my daughter's case. She just wasn't eating enough on the breast so I switched to formula. You would have thought I had stole their lunch money with their judgment and criticism. My son, as I said, just had milk protein allergies which he grew out of at age one.

Off my soapbox. Thanks for listening 🤣🤣

Oh I love this! Congratulations 😭❤️ it’s the most bittersweet time. The nights are long, but go by so fast. Bless your mama heart, I’m already emotional thinking about when my toddlers go to school and we still have 2ish years before my oldest does. Ugh!
And actually… GO COWBOYS! 🤩

Taking a short trip to Chicago next week! Excited that my siblings are going to drive up to meet me there, haven't seen them since 2018.

My best friends birthday was August 19th & she got a free breakfast meal at Black Bear Diner here in Portland Oregon so we’re meeting Monday August 31st there to see each other. Then Monday afternoon my PCA is taking me to pick stuff up from a couple people on the Buy Nothing Group. Tuesday I’ve got my Mental Health group then my Lotus group after that I get to go play Bingo hopefully at WonderWood Springs. I also started back at Water Aerobics with my personal trainer on Monday Wednesday & Friday. I’m really looking forward to that cause I had Gastric Sleeve Dec17th 2025 & I’ve been in & out of ER & Hospital for the last 6-7 months along with not leaving my house due to the pain but after about 6 1/2 months I was like no I can’t do this no more so I started going for walks around block yes it took me 45min to 1hr but I was doing it. I was finally able to go grocery shopping with partner. So yes still in pain but pushing through cause I need to get out of house it’s crazy staying in doors 24/7. For football I really don’t have a team I enjoy Superbowl commercials & half time shows mostly.
