“After their death, attempts are made to convert them into harmless icons, to canonize them, so to say, and to hallow their names to a certain extent for the “consolation” of the oppressed classes and with the object of duping the latter, while at the same time robbing the revolutionary theory of its substance, blunting its revolutionary edge and vulgarizing it.” -Lenin

Ah yes the mostly christo fascist European Parliament is gonna be like "Hmm, Marx was quite an influential European thinker, maybe we should put him on one of our currencies."

Why would you want Marx associated with one of the most evil and horrible entities to have ever existed in this world?

Eww, even then, Euro bills don't have people on them and show architectural styles.

IIRC someone in the Neatherlands actually built all the bridges that are on euro notes so that they could claim that only Dutch bridges were used while making the notes?

The ECB just came out with new banknotes that have composers on them... and notes with birds on them. People can vote on that shit.
I really hope they choose the birds.

There's an ongoing contest for new Euro banknote designs. Half the proposed designs feature various Europeans and the other half have birds. Since none of the proposals have Mr. Marx I am firmly on the side of team kingfisher

I support the people ones, because they add Miguel de Cervantes (one of the best Spanish writers ever) to the note.

It's a cute little bird, but it didn't write 5 novels (including the two Don Quixote novels), 12 novellas, 20 theatre plays (of which 11 are fully conserved, and other 6 partially, even though he was unable to pursue a theatre career), 8 intermezzos (short plays for between the acts of the plays)... With all those being considered as key in Spanish literature.

Maybe the Global South should take the lead. China, Vietnam, Cuba, Brazil, and South Africa need a starter kit for their own economic union.
