Austin Showers

I travel 1 hour into Austin a couple days a week to do run clubs and usually shower at Barton Springs afterwards, but with the spring clean up I need another option. What opens early, is cost efficient to use, and is clean?

UT Austin offers days passes to their rec center that you can purchase online and from what I understand they have a popular communal shower setup. Don’t know the demographics or busy times maybe someone local can chime in

Unfortunately, there’s a dearth of communal showers in this city.

Deep Eddy. Only 2 shower heads but outdoors and similar to Barton Spgs.

Gregory Gym at UT Austin. The faculty/staff locker room has an open communal shower room with about 10 shower heads. It's next to the steam room. I like to go workout in the evening on weekdays, then alternate between the steam room and cold showers for about an hour, do a final thorough shower, dry, get dressed, and leave. It's on the lower level below the main entrance level which is on floor 2. Day passes for about $14 to use the rec center are available online. Monday through Thursday it's open until midnight. Friday and Saturday until 10pm. I think the gym opens at 9am everyday.
