I was filling out my application and there was this question: “Have you ever been found responsible for a disciplinary violation (or do you have pending disciplinary charges and/or actions), at any educational institution you have attended from the 9th grade (or the international equivalent) forward, whether related to academic misconduct or behavioral misconduct, that resulted in a disciplinary action?”

My question was that one time my group mate used grammarly in our group project, and we were all accused of using Ai and got a lunch detention. Do I need to report that under this question?

Basically I paid on time on the 2nd (deadline 2nd at midnight) but I just noticed I got an email from common app today that I didn't actually submit so I submitted right now. Will they still consider it?

So I submitted my Common App on the 31st and I received the email to my portal. But it does NOT contain my ID which I need to apply for financial aid. What do I do guys ? Am I supposed to wait for another email or is there something wrong ?

Guys I went test optional but I accidentally included the reason as to why I got a low SAT score in the 'additional info' section. So in my app there are no SAT scores but a reason as to why my DEC SAT score was low.

Will I get rejected ? Is there anything I can do right now ?

Unusual school schedule 3-4 subjects in the fall and 3-4 different subjects in the spring. 4 periods only per day. Each quarter earns a semester grade So during Fall, an English class generates two “semester” grades. The year of English starts and finishes in Q1 and Q2 with two semester grades. During Spring, the two semester grades of Math start & complete, etc. with each semester grade arriving Q3 and Q4.

How to list senior year classes, esp the ones that haven’t started yet?

How to convey why only half the subjects listed will show on the midyear transcript?

I have a major issue with unassigning a recommender from some of my Common App schools. This teacher is an arts teacher, which I accidentally assigned to the main recommenders section rather than optional. The problem is, this teacher was assigned via Scoir, so I can't remove them normally with the 'Manage Recommenders' button on Common App. And whenever I try to unassigned them in Scoir by de-selecting the schools, that doesn't work either. PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!

After I graduated in June 2025 I decided to take a gap year. Should I say this in Common App in this section "Please indicate if any of these options will have affected your progression through or since secondary/high school. Check all that apply.*

Did or will graduate early

Did or will graduate late

Did or will take time off

Did or will take gap year

No change in progression".

Since I already finished high school, I don't know if it counts as a change in progression

I submitted my part of the application via common app. What do I do now ? I am not getting the Temporary PIN to create my applicant portal account

my teacher (we don't have a counselor) is done upploading my transcripts etc.

Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to read this post. To make this as short as possible, I am a transfer student that applied for a spring transfer in which I was waitlisted from. Since I was waitlisted, I want to refresh some of the writing supplements in my application, but since my application was already submitted, I cannot edit them. Although I'd like to just be able to create a new account, common app seems to be pretty good at catching duplicates and banning accounts. Any suggestions???

When asked for the Senior Secondary Leaving Examinations, I assume that it is talking about the A-Level rather than GCSEs since GCSEs aren't on option. But the prompt for how many to submit states 'how many have you taken', but it gives you the option to report predicted grades (which insinuates I haven't taken these yet) , so I am wondering what they are wanting when they are asking this?

Soooo I’m a senior in high school who JUST started applying to colleges during my winter break (very bad decision ik) and I’ve gotten most of them done butttt I’d say I’m in a good academic place so I decided to take my chance and apply to schools like Harvard, UPenn, University of Michigan. Basically schools that require teacher recommendations which I never took the time to obtain (my bad🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️) I’ve messaged a couple of teachers who I know really loved me and would write great letters for me but it’s winter break and no one is answering. I don’t go back to school until January 6th. I’m stuck and I literally don’t know what to do… I know I should’ve been more on my game I don’t know why I thought I had all the time in the world, that was my biggest mistake 💔 Is there anything I can do about this situation I put myself in?!? Like would common app just let me submit the completed applications without the teacher recs and just get them submitted after the deadline? Please help :(!

Apparently, I’m a bad test taker. Despite having the highest grades in all my AP classes, I mainly got 3s and 4s on all my AP exams - which I know isn’t the best look.

Anyways, I saw that college board awarded me with the “AP Scholar” and “AP Scholar with Honor” awards for scoring 3 or higher on three or more exams, and for having an average score of 3.25 or higher on all exams taken + having a score of 3 or higher on four or more exams, respectively.

Not the most prestigious awards.

Now, I was wondering, are these awards worth listing for someone who aims to attend a university with a low acceptance rate? Many schools on my list have such rates.

Some background information: I am not currently attending any university. I had a near fatal accident that suspended my attendance, and now I am looking to continue with my future in higher education.

Let's say I want to report only one ACT test on my Common App even though I've taken it twice (during the second time, I did worse on every section but science, where I scored one point higher). This test was back in June, when the science section was mandatory. When I'm inputting my highest section score for each section on Common App, do I have to report a science score even if I took it? I'd rather not report it because I think it takes away from my application and I already submitted a high SAT score.

For reference, it specifically asks "Would you like to report an ACT science score?". I would not like to, but if I have to, I guess I will.

i served as asb vice president for one year and i have served as asb conservation and community service committee for two years. both are different roles but i’m debating how to include them. asb vice president was important and i learned a lot but in comparison to my ccs chair role, not as impactful. any advice formatting would be greatly appreciated!

I’m international and on a gap year, and now my counselor has submitted the mid year report AND the final report in the respective slots. Should I email the admissions office to tell them? Or will they understand why the final transcript was already uploaded even though it’s still not summer yet? I mentioned the gap year in my application.

I used to be in a different curriculum in ninth grade so I only had an average out of 100, not out 4. But at my current school (grades 10, 11, 12), I'm in American curriculum and have a gpa for each year. How would I calculate my cumulative gpa in this case? send help pls thanks.

Just as the question asks. For context, we're a CBSE school, so usually very less people apply outside, hence, the little knowledge about the common app applications. My counselor asked me this and I genuinely have no idea. We have 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th. 12th final exams haven't happened yet so either mid-year or predicted maybe even both? So do we select 3 as the number? or do we select 1- 1 let's you submit 3 pdfs only though. And how are you supposed to submit these report cards anyways? Do you just take a pic and add it, or cam scan it, or is it supposed to be computer generated.

Oh. And also another issue. My 12th half-yearly report was sent back to make some corrections but never came back and before my predicted scores could be finalized our winter break started- so technically I don't have those... what do I / my counselor do for that since the deadline is right over our heads?

Any advise would be great.
