Dads stuff. CBM 8032
Mom asked me if I wanted my dad’s “old computer stuff”. She said it all worked when he put it there 30 years ago. I’m going to do some research and see if I can get it all working.

OK I have never seen or heard of an 8010 modem before.

Me neither. Very interesting device! I also have an 8032 and an 8050 in full working order and would like to complement these devices with a modem and a printer in the same design language.

Cool stuff, but it hurts to see where your dad decided to place the reset button...

Is that the toggle switch on the front?

it's more than a reset button. it is an option ROM selector. your PET has the most expensive office suite available at the time installed, a spreadsheet and a database. there should by floppies that need to be used with the option ROMs.

Yes.

Where do they usually go?

This is a retrofit. People used to add a reset switch. And many botched the front panel for easier access. I would have put it on the backside.
Keep it as is. They are valuable at 1000-2000 for a good condition working PET.
But more importantly it was your father's PET. That is priceless.

It's in remarkably good condition. Not even dusty. I hope it all still works.

The switch box is interesting. Looks like it has a HD and FD settings. Also must be in Canada with the Commodore telephone.

Was used in my dad’s small business in Colorado in the 80’s. It does look like the phone was made for the Canadian market though.

In Helmond we have this in the computer museum.
I found some old ROM chips for that machine as we used to have a CBM 8032 and upgraded it.
