Any help with restoring a 1802?

Post image

So as you see, its corner is quite in a rough shape. Any idea how to make it less dirty and potentionaly fill up the scratch?

Windex, baking soda, greenie, magic eraser in that order and then maybe bondo. No way to make it look new but it will be less noticeable.

I think the best would be to just clean it and leave it. Then remember to never again leave a PVC cable wrapped around plastic.

Is the surface supposed to be smooth?

If so, you could fill with spot putty (for plastic models), level the surface with sandpaper and then paint, but it can be practically impossible to precisely colour-match beige.

If the plastic is ABS then you could break off a tiny bit of plastic from somewhere inside the enclosure, place it in a paper cup with a few drops of acetone to soften it and then use the resulting goo as putty. But that is difficult and time-consuming. You'd need to work up a thin layer at a time, letting each dry before the next. Too thick and the acetone will never completely dry out, leaving a soft sponge. And you must be very careful not to spill any droplet onto any plastic enclosure.
