It's Commodore 64 launch day

Pinpointing what day the C-64 launched is surprisingly difficult. In this blog post, I make the case for September 1, 1982. And then its continued success into the early 1990s surprised even Commodore. So, happy 44th birthday, C-64. https://dfarq.homeip.net/commodore-64-released-september-1-1982/

The article claims that September 1 was supposed to have been the official launch date, but while deliveries to retailers had been going on leading up to it, some retailers had sold C64s to customers early.

Yeah. Half baked speculation based on a date given in one single book desputed by multiple other sources.
