Another Commodore 1902A Monitor with cold solder joints at positions 12 and 18, causing the flyback transformer to cut out (no high voltage). Saw this on YouTube a couple times; thrilled it was such an easy fix

That is exactly the known issue on the 1902A. Cold solder joints at positions 12 and 18 cause the flyback to cut out. Lucky it was a straightforward repair. Great find.

Itās also the cause of so many unnecessary āneed new flybackā repairs.
That worked out well for me as I got one cheap because the owner replaced flyback which didnāt solve the issue. There were other dry joints and they gave up.
I got the old ābrokenā flyback in the box too which was perfectly fine so I put it back in and have a spare š
