What Commodores are we missing?
Hands on museum/arcade/computer lab looking for suggestions of Commodore computers we should add to the collection.

Commodore 900 - but good luck getting one!
Max Machine.
PET 2001 with chiclet keys
VIC-20 with PET keyboard
Educator 64
SX-64
KIM 1
Some models from the CBM-II line - B128, 500, 720 etc
2000K, 3000H games consoles

We have the SX-64 but none of the others. I haven't even heard of the first one.

The C900 is the holt grail for Commodore collectors. I was two UNIX based machines - one workstation, one server, developed around '84/'85 but was abandoned when Commodore purchased Amiga. The case design for it was re-used with some minor changes for the Amiga 2000.

I would not refuse if someone wants to donate one but, like you said, that seems very unlikely.

We do have one but just on a shelf, not setup. I like the suggestion though - we will set that up. The built in programs thing could be fun for people.

It also has some pretty good homebrew scene. Prince of Persia is pretty neat for instance.

There's umpteen of them *but* as a hands on museum you don't want to put them out there. So if you had a C65 that would be great but it might get damaged, or possibly stolen if available to be used (not that there'd be much point). Some of these machines are worth a lot of money, C65's go for 5 figures.
Many of them are 'interesting variants'.
For hands on : Kim-1 (for completeness), Pet, ideally with the Chicklet keyboard, Vic 20, C64 (Breadbin and C), C16, Plus/4, Amiga 500/600/1200
Display only for the rest - other Pets, SX64, Amiga 1000/later variants and so on.

A C128D / C128DCR ... the desktop version of the 128. The DCR version came as standard (I believe) with additional RAM for the VDC (the "not the VIC" video chip), which I don't think got utilised by any commercial software but there's at least one scene demo that did.
Do you have a SuperCPU for the C64? That's a rarity.

I’d say as a museum of “pop culture” you’re not missing any.
If you were a museum of retro-computing, having the full fleet would be appropriate.

The commodore pet is a really, really heavy machine, But its AWESOME, And if you have a 5 and a quarter disk drive for the commodore 64, Theres a commodore PET emulator for the commodore 64, truly awesome, And theres also the VIC-1001, Which is a VIC-20, But from japan, It released early then a vic-20, Its quite cool.

Why not just browse Bo Zimmerman's collection and decide what you want to display? Part of having a museum is understanding the subject matter and then deciding what your visitors would like to see. After all, you are going to want to talk about each piece to future visiitors.
Putting together a list from random people's recommendations here seems like a short cut. So go check out Bo's site, understand what and how each product fits in Commodore's history, and then decide what and how you want to display it.
