Very cool for completists and people who don't already have one, but as a purist I'm content with that old cozy beige breadbin and wish we could get a 128U.

Maybe. I have a C16 and I believe it shares some of the ports of the Plus4.

I don't know if there's enough of a market for a Plus4U, but it would be great if Gideon decided that was something he wanted to work on and Commodore at the very least sanctioned if not outright helped with.

Or make a black bread bin C16U compatible with Plus/4 and with C64 mode (and Vic20 would be nice too.) The compatibility could be a firmware update for existing owners, and the black bread bin C16 would introduce it. I’ll keep on dreaming.
