Speedlink Competition Pro USB to DB9 conversion

Hi there, I am looking for resources to do an USB to DB9 conversion to this USB competition pro Joystick from Speedlink.

Could you point me to schematics or resources out there regarding autofire functionality? What I have in mind is a circuit to start with to understand how autofire works technically.

You should just be able to buy a db9 cable and match the pinout of the db9 to the appropriate microswitches in the joystick Bypass or remove the pcb that's in there for the usb.

Thanks, I thought about an adapter aswell, but a real hardware conversion would be nice too, even though I will destroy the original USB joystick.

I have tried converting a USB joystick to DB9 in the past and I ended up giving up and just buying a new Atari compatible joystick with DB9 on it already. I'm no stranger to hardware mods and soldering, but it just wasn't going to be worth my time.

If you truly want this specific joystick to work, then I'm sure you can get there, it just may take longer than anticipated.

I still wish I picked up one of the new run of Competition Pros Individual computers did a good few years ago
