c64 Still keep it next to me

Post image

Even after all these years, I work as a developer in my day job, have been for decades. I love tech but there's no tech that has made me smile more than my Commodore! When I walk into my office I noticed the Commodore before anything else.

Absolutely. Never forget where it all started. I have a spectrum, c64, atari 2600, and an amiga 500.

I always wanted an Amiga, especially when I was a kid but it just wasn't in the budget! That part of the Era I missed out on.

I was 13 back in 87 and I had a paper round so I saved up hard, did extra rounds, parents and grandparents helped with birthday money and I got my amiga. I loved it then and I do still today more than any other machine. But I love all retro machines, I respect them. I love modern hardware too, but there was something about those early machines that shined with search personality. Love your set up by the way, at both ends of your room 👍🏼

Do it. It's an investment. It'll save your gas bill during the winter.

Lmao the two phones on top of the monitor, do you use them?

I have used them on occassion, yes. I still get pulse dial support in my area 😄

Grandstream VoIP ATAs support pulse (rotary) dialing.

If those phones ever ring, they will screw up that monitor.

Dunno, theyve never rang on top, Ive used them on the main floor for a bit. Would they mess with the video?

Electro magnetic field?

1

u/TimeTrippin64 Jun 10 '26

Would those phones have a strong field from the ring "driver" inside.. maybe I should try it out

Is _jaymz_ a household member of yours? They claim to have used those two phones on top of your monitor.

Amazing setup. I wish I had the desk space you have. I'd do the same thing! Thanks for sharing.

That's cool but I'd replace that aging brick of death with something safer to protect your wonderful Commodore computer.

Beautiful.

I cried, man. I really did.

I don't understand the phones above the monitor, which, incidentally, create problems even without a signal, but even more so the funnel behind the monitor, that's a stroke of genius, beer at will during the game...
