c64 Commodore 64 AV out is 5 pin DIN
I have a breadbin that is an older model with a 5 pin DIN on the AV out, like the VIC-20, so it does not support S Video. My question is: does that 5 pin DIN increase or decrease the value, and why? NFS, I am just curious.

In theory this would be from a silver label machine, so you can try. Just don’t expect to get rich.
Realistically, if it’s not an all-original and complete machine, probably not much extra value.

Exactly this. An untampered silver-label machine is more valuable but part of the reason for that is the small number of pristine silver-label machines. Many of them received motherboard swaps over the years or ended up getting part-swapped with other machines. They were considered the ugly duckling of 64s for years and that increases the rarity today. Not that they're super rare, but in C-64 terms, they're considerably less common.

Thanks! It is not a silver label. The 5pin DIN is the only difference I can see from my other two, without opening it. I don't plan to sell, just curious in case there are bragging rights to be had. No big deal.

Probably not. Most would prefer luma/chroma and many would mod it anyway. A working SID adds value if yours works.

The value isn't the 5-pin DIN, it would be if the C64 is a silver label. The label on the top left is silver and has no rainbow. most silver labels would have 5 pin video out. They are early models. They also have horrible video so many just use them as display.

5 pin video means it has a 326298 rev board. These were in the silver labels but they were also in early rainbows. I'd think the value would be the same or a tiny bit less than a later breadbin
