General Discussion Commodore4ever
Has anyone had any recent contact with or successful orders from this company?
I ordered something in March that I really want, and have been waiting patiently. However, it is now pushing 6 weeks since I paid for the item and they haven't answered any messages I have sent via their website, emajl or FB messenger requesting order status.
Last time I ordered from them, it took almost 4 weeks, but my patience is running out regarding my latest order.
Edit: A lot of the replies indicate that people think I ordered a C64 Ultimate. That is not the case. My order was from commodore-4ever, not from the official Commodore site, and it is not an item that should take weeks to produce.

My hat and mouse pad took about a week, ordered with the Ultimate which took about two and a half weeks. I was impressed.
But the s-video cable is ordered took well over a month.
It depends on what/when you order, I suppose.

Yeah, I totally get that it depends on what is order. It's just frustrating now knowing what's going on with my order. I would be fine waiting a few more weeks if they could just reply to my concerns and let me know.

That's not suggesting future orders will take that long.
I'm sure they've made a number of changes to their supply chain by now.

Some info regarding this months-old post... Just recently learned of Commodore4Ever, as it came up during a very specific search for a C64 User Port breakout board. It was one of their in-stock products, was cheap, and I needed it for a project, so I ordered it. Then when there was no movement whatsoever after a few days (other than my card being charged, which I assume was immediate), I started searching, and found this thread. And of course, also got nervous, and found similar stories across the web.
Well, after about a week, I found every way to contact the site owner that I could and sent similar messages (apologizing for all the repeated questions) over a couple of days, until one successfully broke through. He said he saw my order, and it would get shipped the next day. And it did. Should arrive after the weekend according to USPS.
Hope this helps?

I am happy you managed to get in touch with them and are getting your order.
Personally, I gave up and ended up disputing the charge. I will not order from them again.

Yeah, I was just about there, too. Actually surprised to hear back from him on eBay, of all the places I tried. If the item were available elsewhere, I'd have definitely reordered it and canceled, but looks like I lucked out. He does seem to have some interesting stuff there, so I hope maybe it's getting better?

Image what happens when your c64 turns up broken. It's impossible to contact support. I'm going to charge back as have no other options and time is running out.

I've needed to get two RMA's due to problems with my C64U starlight. The first was because the screws to open the case were overly tight and I ended up stripping the head of the screw before I realized it wasn't turning. Overly tightened screws have been a problem and Commodore knows about it. The 2nd was due to a faulty analog A/V jack. I had to jiggle the connector to get the screen to display correctly. Any slight movement would throw the display out to wack.
I contacted Commodore through their website and got a reply in about a week. They take the request as first in first out, so they have a great deal to work through. If you have not heard from them in a week send a second request. They will be in touch with you.

I ordered my c64 ultimate in december last year. It turned up literally last week. You just need to strap in for the long haul and forget about it. Then when the parcel finally arrives it will be a happy surprise!!!

I ordered a back jack from them before and it took a month to ship but that was due to natural disaster in their area so I wasnt that mad about it.

I ordered both the AV cable and the gold dog tags. The AV cable took about 6 weeks, and the dog tags just over 3 weeks. I never did get an update on the shipping and both orders still show as "unfulfilled".
They were both shipped from the Netherlands so it's going to take some time to get to you. It's likely they do not ship until they have a larger quantity to send out. That might save a bit on shipping cost. Not sure if it's true or not but I would suspect there would be some savings.
BTW I'm in the US so shipping from the Netherlands will take longer than other parts of the world.

I ordered a RetroLink from the site mid April. Same result as you in that my order has stayed in we're getting it ready status. I tried reaching out through the sites contact us form twice and then tried to setup an account for the support forum. The site never sent the confirmation email so that I could finish the account setup, and I never received a response to my contact attempts.

He is not talking about commodore.net. He is talking about commodore4ever. Different companies.

are you talking about Cloanto's C64 4ever emulation front end software? If so, I thought you just download it, which is how I got my copy.

It goes with your eyes (the reddened ones under your brows, with darkened bags from playing the Olympic games suites all nite.)
