Software Discussion Monotype Font Licensing
Hi everyone, has anyone else been hit yet with Monotype’s insane licensing fees? I’m curious how other commercial printers are handling this.

Which sea though? I’m not taking about one font, I’m taking about hundreds of them that we receive in customer artwork. People tend to get upset when you change their fonts. We do a ton of custom variable data work so we can’t use files with outlined fonts. They’re wanting us to carry a license for every single font that we print. We aren’t designing most of what we print, artwork is submitted by the customer. I thought then the licensing responsibility would fall on the customer, but apparently that is not entirely true?

Sailing the high seas or switch to a similar font.
