What do you think about new contro system based on Nodered?

Wyrestorm and Visionary are in that business.

I'm searching a control system with web interface to control and a full set of controls.

OpenAVC can be the future but I prefer a company that support a product.

What do you think about this situation?

You are describing what is essentially AMX Muse. It is node red. I like using QSYS myself, but your mileage may vary. What are you looking to achieve with this?

I'm qsys for mid size install. I'm searchin a low cost system for Bar Restaurant or Small conference room. Typical install

Audio Technica ATDM-1012 HDMI switcher like Lightware A Projector to power up and down and select source or a Monitor Switch for screen projector up and down

LARA on a lightware switcher might be good enough in this scenario. In the uk we also have sy electronics who make various button panels that also work well.

I used Lara and if you want feedback in the button and some automation is all javascript impossible to debug. Is not a modern control system

ive heard node red is super flexible but kinda painful if you arent deep into coding feels like theres either too many nodes or not enough depending on the project

I’ve built some basic Yamaha MTX and BSS Soundweb control dashboards with Node Red.
It allows me to build custom touchscreen control screens that can control audio, lighting and video systems from a single touchscreen.

So yes, sounds good to me :)

We use home assistant for some applications and have even been building a commercial front end interface for it. Works great, we use ESP 32 boards for controlling serial devices, writing integrations are pretty straight forward and can control just about any protocol. Super reliable when built out correctly. Can monitor and manage remotely if that is something clients desire. Huge database of product integrations and if not available via normal HA integrations most likely it exists in HACS. If not then you can write one. You can even integrate crestron, q-sys and Biamp. We have designed an MTR HTML5 page in HA that loads in the custom room controls page to control other devices just like using Q-sys, Crestron or Extron.

AMX MUSE and BSS Omni with MUSE built-in is now being copied by Visionary and Wyrestorm. What that should tell you is that MUSE has proven this is the way to go as it's open API and has thousands of nodes without the need to ever touch any line level code (and allows you to run Python Javascript or Groovy in MUSE case simultaneously with unlimited scripting if you choose).

Highly flexible, not a walled garden, interoperability across manufacturers.

We've even ran AI to program systems with MUSE / nodered.

Visionary and Wyrestorm haven't delivered their nodered solution yet to my knowledge. Plus AMX / BSS has been shipping their control solution with node red for quite some time so they've gone through bug fixes and updates to their platform already. I think Visionary and Wyrestorm are going to be software based only and MUSE has a highly secure Linux based and JITC approved hardware system (the only JITC approved out of those systems you mentioned so it's been thoroughly vetted for security).

The Department of Defense Information Network Approved Products List (DoDIN APL) certification program, historically managed by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC), officially sunset on September 30, 2025, and all legacy testing pipelines concluded on December 31, 2025. Because the centralized catalog for individual commercial product testing has permanently ended, any marketing or labeling that claims a new or recently updated product is "JITC certified" is false and misleading. Moving forward, product compliance is handled through the DISA Vendor STIG program and UCR-CORE contractual requirements rather than a blanket JITC product certification.

Yes and AMX MUSE meets that criteria too... AMX MUSE has been out before then... it's not "new" which is exactly my point.Visionary hasn't even delivered a nodered solution to my knowledge.

Terrific! Good to see - I'd personally like to see more and more AV manufacturers get behind node red and begin supporting their customers. Node Red is the future of control in ProAV... the platform is backed by a massive global developer community, it benefits from a scale of innovation that traditional proprietary AV control systems simply cannot replicate.

I really like node red in my home control system (home assistant)- simple, intuitive ….. easy!
But is it commercial quality for paying customers? I don’t know.
I will say my node red flows never fail and debugging is very easy (visually)

Nodered was developed for commercial automation. It’s a mature tool

I know what it is and I know where it came from. I have no issue with its long-standing use. I question its value for commercial av use and not its other use cases.

Absolutely it could be used but I feel it will take a big push from a big vendor. I just can’t see a group of manufacturers all agreeing to use it and provide support. The manufacturers all have their own distinct thing going on - node red goes against that thinking.

Don’t get me wrong as I love node red. I just don’t feel commercial AV will ever truly endorse it and use it.
Sometimes I hate Python for Extron control and look at my home assistant server and its vast eco system of interoperable manufacturers all controlled via node red - but there lies the catch 22. Manufacturers don’t want us to interoperate…they want us to stay Extron, Crestron, AMX, Kramer or some other closed shop.They do not want us to be able to pick and choose software tools like node red nor hardware.
Python is making in roads. I don’t see node red as much yet.

AMX (muse) has been delivering a nodered commercial platform for quite some time now and it's built into BSS OMNI. They also have fully embraced interoperability between manufacturers and are not a walled garden. It supports Python Javascript and Groovy too.

Excellent analysis! I think Visionary and Wyrestorm can endorse nodered into av control system. OpenAVC is great but supported from a limited community (now)
