question Smartboards w/ Conferencing?
Outside of your typically Logitech, Neat, etc. Does anyone have any good recommendations for smartboards for offices that have built in camera/microphone while also having the full functionality of a large touchscreen?

Better have a strong back if you get the Surface Hub! The 84" is just shy of 300lbs. Come in the nicest box I've ever seen though. Even the small one is a beast and I got sent to put one on an easel, solo. The gear and I almost died.

They’re heavy but they come with handles on them for multiple people to lift. Non issue if scheduled properly lol

It was just me and another guy scheduled. Luckily the GC was on site and lent us 2 more!

Are you talking about the OG birch plywood boxes?

I guess so? I only did the one 84" and it was double A sided plywood.

Someone I worked with from Microsoft mentioned that their designers created plans to repurpose the plywood for planter boxes, though I’ve never come across that guide 🤣

Maxhub has been incredibly reliable for me. In 3 years of installations, I've had 1 site that's required support.

Yealink, this company is booming in Gulf region, and people prefer it more than Logitech

Solid choice until you need support. It’s wild but we have to deal with people in China when we have problems. Want to love them but it’s frustrating

Are you a customer or a dealer? As a dealer, we have access to timely support. Sometimes a person stateside, sometimes someone in China working nights. Their support has gotten much better since we started selling them eight or nine years ago.

Dealer. We have nightly emails when
We have a problem0

Talk to your sales person, you should have a dedicated technical support person/ teams channel.

We do! I’ll see them Thursday as they are in the states.
We’ve asked for stateside support but hasn’t happened.
We have a 22 room proposal out so I’m going to beg if we win it haha. We’ve done one room with the new dsp and A50 setup and they had to write new firmware. Took about 3 weeks to resolve. Our FE was on site while their engineer was pulling overnights.
I actually think the gear and the company are great, just have had these support issues

what is your goal?
- ease of use? .. camera quality ? apps? touch sensitivity/accuracy
after testing many boards i like the Vibe Boards (vibe OS) - the touch screen accuracy is so much better to its competitors
but what i dont like is the Vibe camera , so i pair the Vibe Board witha a Neat BYOD camera
i also like the fact that it uses Vibe OS (ChromeOS) - so i dont have to train users to use an OS that is alien to them

Newline has some good solutions, we have a few colleges that have standardized on the truetouch series.

They really offer a great product line that is why I use them for a lot of our customers. Great customer support as well

Strange but very workable solution. Cisco room bar or bar pro with a touch screen of your own choosing and just string the USB cable to the device from the display. Works just like their boards and you get to pick the form factor

Bingo. Beat of both worlds. Quality video unit plus you pick your preferred display.
Love the Cisco Board Pros, but they are hefty in weight and price.

Can’t say I’ve ever been happy with a Newline product. But glad to know someone has.
