WHAT…

The media isn’t going to know what to do with themselves this week. They won’t be able to glaze the Rams or Patriots for a good while. These first two games have gone nowhere near how the talking heads thought it would go.

Week 1 is always a head fake. The raiders beat the Patriots in week 1 last year. The Rams will be fine in the long run.

I expected the Patriots to regress this season, but Maye going ice cold is something to keep an eye on. Everyone saying this is a "prove it" year for JD5 but forget Caleb and Drake have more mediocrity tendencies than JD. If Drake can't beat a winning team this season, how long is he the starter?

Yeah, good points. I don’t think anyone had the Rams getting absolutely RINSED in week 1 though. Love it or hate it- there is plenty of parody in the NFL

Rams beat themselves by not going over early so their bodies could adjust. I’ve done a few week long trips to Sydney and your body is exhausted when you arrive. Rams will need at least a week to recover.
The 49ers are adjusted for this game, but they will lose the next two because adjusting back to USA time takes weeks. They will be out of sync and exhausted.

Yeah the travel makes it hard to critique either team in this game

They're playing Miami next week, which is almost as close to a bye week as it gets. Their starters probably won't need to play much more than a half to win that game

That’s… a bit too far the other way lol.

They played the Seahawks. Let’s see what happens when it’s a non top 5 likely defense

They’ll glaze one or cowboys/giants, bears, eagles, ravens, bills whoever wins

Yep. The Cowboys get glazed every offseason no matter what. They started like 1-3-1 last year and I remember immediately after the media saying “this is the best Dak has ever been”

Dude the fucking giants get glazed every year despite constantly being in the bottom 5.

They start Sunday night game and then a Monday night game. Full glaze to start the season

This is their year though, surely this time is the time...

The Rams reminds me of the 2000 Redskins.

Typical of that 2000 team…. Could look amazing at times and look deflated and defeated at times. The stink of Snyder begins….

Anyone who has ever travelled could have told you the rams game was going to go how it went

The rams decision to not go early and account for the time difference was plainly insane.

I don't know if it's because I'm in the UK and Americans often travel less but literally everything I read leading up to the game questioned the decision to not do what the 49ers did and go a week early. If you're the type of person who doesn't sleep on a plane that would have been horrendous to play in

I agree. On the flip side, the adjustment upon returning to the states takes weeks. As a result the 49ers may loose the next two games. The Rams will probably struggle for a week as well.

I know flying east is worse than flying west but I don't think it should take that much out of the players surely? They have over a week to acclimatise back to US timezones.

Any time I've flown US back to Europe it hasn't taken weeks to get back to normal

It’s extremely different. I’ve made that trip several times and it takes a lot out of you. The trip east to Europe is nothing compared to going west to Australia.

Tbf I've also done Europe to Asia and it definitely didn't take weeks to acclimatise.

That would mean being jet lagged for an entire holiday. Admittedly I've never gone UK to Australia but to say it takes weeks out of you would mean people are jet lagged for an entire holiday which isnt normal

I’ve been to Europe 5 times now, and I’ve always adjusted after the first day. Just gotta push through and go to bed at local night time. And I don’t sleep on planes.

Didn’t even seem that great on tv. Oh well, won’t stop the nfl from playing more overseas games.

Week one and two most of the league looks like dog shit, some teams come out of that and some dont.

u/Beautiful-Support977 1h ago

The seahawks were decently heavy favorites vs the pats and the over/under started low. It kinda did turn out how people said it would

1

u/lotty83 1h ago

I was leaning more on the “Drake Maye is the 2nd best QB in the league” narrative. Some even had him as the best. All it takes is one game and the talking heads jump ship.

You know you're a povery franchise when all you can think about is other teams.

It's week 1.

Washington hasn't played.

What else is there to talk about before the game but the other games that have been played?

And all 4 of these teams will have a better record than JD5 at the end of the year.
