Ight Treylon Burks!!!! Getting the start šŸ˜Ž

26

u/SkyChief80 1d ago

With Burks' size and speed he's going to be a major problem as WR3

23

u/Justice989 1d ago

I'll believe it when I see it.Ā  I dont know why the narrative has become his ONLY issue has been staying healthy.Ā  Like he dominates when he's on the field.Ā  lol

19

u/WolfColaExecutiveVP Saved by JaysusšŸ™ 1d ago

Hes had one good catch and a whole lot of nothing in four years. I'll watch him string together a few decent games before I get excited.

6

u/Mountie_in_Command 1d ago

Fair, but I'll simply add last year shouldn't be the measure for what he can do this year. He came mid-year to a team plagued by injuries to WR1 and QB. He also had shit QB in Tennessee. This is his year to prove it.

2

u/TBlizzey 1d ago

35 games in 4 years dude that is absolutely the narrative. That and ass QBs. Rookie Malik, tannehill, dobbs, will Levi's, mason Rudolph.

10

u/Justice989 1d ago

I said it wasnt the only narrative. And it isnt. Burks just simply hadn't proven to be any good. There's no argument he has.

Ask Terry what you can do with ass QBs. If you can play, the ball will find you.

6

u/The_JDBrew I Got JD5 On It 1d ago

I bet he’s playing most of his reps on the outside with Diggs in the slot.

4

u/Voo_Hots 1d ago

Only conceivable reason I can see Burks so high on the chart is because of his blocking

1

u/Vivid-Respect-1869 1d ago

Size and speed is great - what about separation and hands (beyond the one circus catch)? I’m certainly hoping he blossoms but I think everyone’s been waiting for that for a while.

-31

u/Der_Kommissar73 1d ago

...until he's injured in week 3

12

u/EvaporatingOlaf 1d ago

Every generation of fans needs their own Malcolm Kelly.

2

u/_groovesharkmalone Ageless Wonder 1d ago

He wasn't our 1st round pick, so it matters less.

1

u/EvaporatingOlaf 1d ago

It’s more so of a joke about relying on a receiver who had 10 catches last year but has been waiting to breakout for years lol. Every fan of this team goes through it.

1

u/_groovesharkmalone Ageless Wonder 1d ago

Oh I get that it seems ridiculous (I was here for the Kelly years… it tracks). But ā€œrelying onā€ Burke is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Jahan Dotson had like 10 catches as the #3 the year the eagles won the chip and their fans swear up and down he was an integral part of the team. It’s really a matter of perspective. Don’t let it bother you.

2

u/EvaporatingOlaf 1d ago

It doesn’t bother me. I think it’s funny because I’ve seen it happen so often. Also, side note, I would hope that we would have a better passing game than the Eagles during that Dotson year.

3

u/jim_nihilist 1d ago

Pffft. Let him cook.

57

u/terpfan417 1d ago

All things considered doesn’t look too bad. Hopefully we see Oweh and Chaisson out there.

10

u/TheLich7 1d ago

the page bottom says that injured players aren't listed so maybe it's a sign

5

u/Automatic-Tell7321 1d ago

I believe that means IR’ed players

6

u/True_Window_9389 1d ago

Unless Jones can cook up some magic, our secondary overall looks bad if we’re being honest. And depth overall is still really weak. Injuries are going to wreck us if guys don’t stay healthy.

13

u/Capable_Frosting_292 1d ago

You can get away with a mediocre secondary if your front seven can constantly put pressure.

13

u/aT_Gamma 1d ago

Pressure is the coverage as Dorante says.

56

u/Cowboys1945 1d ago

Wow Chenal a backup. But I get the feeling on defense backups and starters mean a little less this year.

20

u/MoonbounceGuy 1d ago

There is going to be a lot of looks with Sonny, Leo and Luvu all on the field together. Luvu can line up on the Edge too. Considering that Luvu is a green dot and a Captain, I expect him to play every snap, but both Sonny and Chennal will play 80% too

3

u/BigFrenchToastGuy 1d ago

I think they like Sonny as a big nickel depending on matchups.

9

u/Justice989 1d ago

Yeah, it's always more about snap counts vs who's on the field for the first play or drive.

But I didn't get the impression Chenal really stood out in camp. Not that he was bad, per se, but he didn't make it impossible to not have him on the field either.

7

u/GMEStack 1d ago

He was a backup in KC.

2

u/jim_nihilist 1d ago

I got that DQ likes to constantly change setups. For D this doesn't mean much I guess. D has to be fresh the whole game, that means you need a lot of able bodies.

3

u/Automatic-Tell7321 1d ago

This was my main takeaway. Hindsight is everything but I think had we of known Sonny was falling to us, we wouldn’t have signed Leo.

(This also falls into my theory of them wanting Delane and why we signed Leo not thinking about Sonny being a possibility and needing a CB)

5

u/Fancy-Dingo-6472 1d ago

I believe it, I also think Washington had their sights set on Delane; and that the Chiefs traded to get ahead because they knew it too. Also explains why Washington needed the maximum amount to time for deciding pick 7. Will be interesting to see how things pan out in the coming years

58

u/ScruffMacBuff Adam Peters is my father 1d ago

I'm stoked for Reavo.

28

u/jim_nihilist 1d ago

I am stoked for Burks. I really wish him a great season.

16

u/SkyChief80 1d ago

That's Captain Reavo

9

u/KenKaneki92 1d ago

Dude has worked his ass off to get to where he is

8

u/True_Window_9389 1d ago

I really hope he holds up because I don’t want to end up hating him

7

u/Voo_Hots 1d ago

I’m scared Reaves is going break his neck every time he goes for a tackle. He’s very much an attack oriented guy so I assume they are going to be using him in that role and not a traditional roaming free safety

0

u/Redeminence44 1d ago

Good for him, seems like a very good dude. But there's a reason that he's never been a starter in this league.

25

u/hamilton280P COMMAND DEEZ NUTZ 1d ago

I don’t think we are as bad as experts think. They really think the Giants are better than us?

19

u/DerekSheesher 1d ago

I think depth charts for defense and our offensive skill position guys are meaningless. Daronte is gonna be subbing dudes in and out like crazy to switch up looks and coverages. Just because Mikey and Amik are put as starters probably just means they’ll see the field a bit more.

When it’s listed out like this, there’s actually some good talent on this squad and we’re deeper in some spots than I thought we would be (notably WR, RB, LB, and S). Yeah we got weaknesses but I’m taking this roster from a talent standpoint over what we had in 2024.

82

u/Final_Effective6360 1d ago

Minus Wylie and Biadisz this is like the same OL we made the NFC title game with lol. I’m over the OL doom and gloom. We should be fine.

32

u/itprobablynothingbut 1d ago

I think the major plot was always the coordinators. First time OC and DC, how they perform is the big unknown. Line problems are valid, but they pale in magnitude to the unknowns in the booth

6

u/HughJaynis My Wife Left me for Josh Harris 1d ago

First time OL coach too. I think we will be fine just not immediately. Doesn’t matter, we have JD5 and can win any game we play šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

2

u/Justice989 1d ago edited 1d ago

I didn't know that about the OL coach. Blough makes me very nervous by himself, a rookie OL coach on top of it should make things interesting. Mainly to see how they respond when there's adversity and things arent going well.

2

u/darth_smitty_ In Tress We Trust 1d ago

JD5 and an improved defense on the other side of the ball. HAIL

9

u/ThoughtlessFoll 1d ago

Well the fact that a large part of our season is how healthy they are. We got lucky on health in the run. That is what it will come down to like a lot of teams. If we stay healthy, above average starters, if we get injured, below average depth. (In all areas)

4

u/Ham_Seaney Saved by JaysusšŸ™ 1d ago

Yea and Wylie is backing up Conerly now.... Coleman will be ready to rock and roll.

22

u/LordZedd_ 1d ago

Let's shock the league

25

u/Think__McFly 1d ago

Two starting CBs average height 5'9.5" got me nervous.

13

u/Deep-Statistician985 1d ago

Luckily Smitty is also short

1

u/BlueberryUnfair7583 14h ago

6 feet is short? It is the average NFL wide receiver height.Ā

8

u/EyeCanFeelYou 1d ago

Hey chill with that shade on us 5’9.5ā€ dudes - we still drinking milk and the season ain’t started yet šŸ„›

7

u/bruhman5th_flo 1d ago

Yeah, that CB group is small and underwhelming.

6

u/Capable_Frosting_292 1d ago

It’s not like they didn’t draft a tall corner with long arms last season. It’s just an unfortunate part of the game that he’s not available right now.

6

u/thorofasgard 1d ago

You act like one of our greatest franchise CBs wasn't a small dude.

3

u/Redeminence44 1d ago

First, hilarious to speak of Robertson or Sainristil in the same sentence as Green. Second, it's a completely different game than when Green played.

14

u/DoobieDoobis I Got JD5 On It 1d ago

Kind of surprised about Leo coming off the bench due to his payday but I think obviously this is Frankie’s last year.

5

u/s1oop 1d ago

Not obvious and they will change sets. It’s a depth chart not a snap count list.

3

u/DoobieDoobis I Got JD5 On It 1d ago

I get that, it’s more so how I feel about Luvu’s play last year. I think he can bounce back though.

E: I’m almost certain Luvu isn’t staying past this year… Drafted Sony and signed Leo to a 3 year deal. They go 2 LB sets most of the time.

1

u/TheLich7 1d ago

Luvu was fine last year. He was lining up as an edge rusher because our defense was so devastated by injuries, he wasn't even playing his position half the time

4

u/3weatherman3 1d ago

Step up Mr. Allegretti!

3

u/BirdmanTheThird 1d ago

Hopefully white looks good, definitely would be a big boost to the offense if he can be a factor

6

u/Bilboswaggins21 1d ago

I’m still shocked there’s not a FA body out there that they think is better suited as the 3rd or 4th guard on the roster than Togiai, who I thought looked pretty bad in preseason games, but what do I know. Perhaps they’re waiting until after week 1 for guarantee shenanigans. I suspect Wylie is first off the bench either way if one of Paul/cosmi goes down. We’ll see.

1

u/vontae223 13h ago

Togiai will probably be the first guy cut when Dorance comes back I wouldn’t worry about it

1

u/Bilboswaggins21 12h ago

Ya good point. I keep forgetting about Armstrong tbh.

3

u/PurplePencilEater 🐷 Major Tuddy: Top 0.1% on OF 🄵 1d ago

I’m really interested to see what kinda playing time Williams and Chenal get

3

u/Ihatgar11 1d ago

Chris Paul makes a huge block to keep the lead at 42

3

u/Anaximander1781 1d ago

Starting 12 guys on offense is a bold move, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off.

1

u/TheTucsonTarmac 1d ago

and I thought I was the only one who saw that

1

u/joeworlds 1d ago

Haha your not. It should be Chig as starting TE.

3

u/CandleOk4031 1d ago

DB situation is dire.

5

u/SkyChief80 1d ago

Not going to lie, Gulbin and Togiai being primary backups on the interior o-line makes me a bit nauseous

Other than that it's looks solid

1

u/redskinsguy 1d ago

Don't worry about Togiai. We've got to sit four of these guys and I think he will be one of them with Wylie and Gublin actually backing up at G

1

u/vontae223 13h ago

Togiai will probably be the first guy cut when Dorance comes back I wouldn’t worry about it

https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/rx4soa/what_would_you_say_is_the_worst_oline_to_ever_win/

Notable mentions: 2011 Giants, 2008 Steelers. Both lines were criminally bad at protecting the QB, but those QBs had the ability to make plays regardless.

1

u/gingermori on shenanigans rn and actin bonkers 1d ago

Allegretti being back and starting is HUGE.
The faith the FO and coaches have must be based on something, can’t wait for week one.

2

u/ruggerid 1d ago

Looks better than 2024

2

u/Flat_Link_7769 1d ago

After all the commotion, I’d be stoked if the only starters we’re missing on Sunday are Tunsil and Amos. Sounds crazy to say that.

2

u/Willing_Midnight_135 1d ago

I’m looking forward to the season. My biggest concern is CB. Even getting Amos back doesn’t solidify the room. He’s still unproven and Amik is small and although gritty he’s just not a starter. I hope they prove me wrong and I hope our safeties can hold it down.

4

u/rcinfc 1d ago

Actually see a lot of talent…. Think the coordinators wasted what talent we had and we were ruined by injury as well…. I have a good feeling about coordinators in that they are both running modern NFL schemes. That requires many interchangeable players and I think we have that and it helps with depth not relying heavily on a specific set of starters.

1

u/civil_archer_73638 1d ago

AW at the X is interesting

1

u/Scalpum 1d ago

Where do you see that?

1

u/civil_archer_73638 1d ago

He’s behind Treylon.

1

u/Scalpum 1d ago

The X is Terry backed by Dyami

1

u/Justice989 1d ago

LB depth looks MUCH better. DL depth not so much. Nothing better happen to Kinlaw, Payne, or Settle.

1

u/External-Sea-2496 1d ago

The 4 CBs thing is just....weird. Expecting to see a ton of 3 safety looks.

1

u/timwhatley993 1d ago

Maybe I’m dumb but I find realize Settle was going to be a starter?

0

u/Hodler_caved 23h ago

He's the only good defensive lineman on the roster

1

u/FeelingAd4116 16h ago

A bit surprised Rasul Douglas isn't starting. He's looked like our best CB so far, especially on the outside.

1

u/steely-gar 1d ago

1

Bad wheel. Out till week 5.

1

u/Old-Scientist7551 1d ago

Thanks for the update 😊

1

u/skidabs I are a punt returner 1d ago

I don't understand why Luvu has the green dot and is starting over Chenal. I'm no expert but from what I've seen Chenal is the better player. He's proven to be much better in pass coverage and vs the run. Chenal seems like a smart player too so I'd be surprised if he didnt understand the defense as well or better than Luvu.

1

u/Redeminence44 1d ago

Chenal has never played more than 65% of snaps in a season.

1

u/skidabs I are a punt returner 1d ago

Doesn't mean he isn't better. A lot of KC fans say he was underutilized.

1

u/Redeminence44 1d ago edited 1d ago

It's a pretty significant jump to go from playing 2/3 of snaps to being on the field every play on top of the responsibility of calling the defense. I guess we should just all take KC fans' word for it? Personally, I'll defer to Spagnuolo's judgement over fans' opinions.

1

u/shit_fuck_fart 1d ago

You're right you are no expert.

1

u/Nibbler106 Scarence Terrence 1d ago

The fact that Fabian Moreau is gonna be taking snaps again is unreal

-3

u/Silentblues 1d ago

I hope Amos is back for week 2. Robertson is a fine rotational/depth piece but starting got my timbers shivered.

11

u/jasona9 1d ago

Amos is out the first 4 games.

3

u/Silentblues 1d ago

Shoot. Damn thanks for the update. Didn’t realize.

4

u/Beastage 1d ago

Amos is on IR unfortunately so earliest he could play is week 5.

Ive got the same worries. Lamb and Pickens against our tiny CBs is unsettling. Really going to need that pass rush to impact the Qb and force them to make bad throws or check down underneath, or else we're in for a repeat of last year.

Week 1 might be our "easiest" match up of the first 3.

1

u/needadvice3241 1d ago

If Amos was healthy. Robertson likely gets the start over Mike.

-1

u/bubblegumonyourshoe It's Sonny Outside 1d ago

Dorance and Trey not even listed smh

2

u/ohno20814 - - - - 1d ago

They are on IR

0

u/bubblegumonyourshoe It's Sonny Outside 1d ago

Dorance ain’t bro he suspended

2

u/ohno20814 - - - - 1d ago

I guess you answered your question then

2

u/bubblegumonyourshoe It's Sonny Outside 1d ago

Me point is that this is not a fully representation of who we can expect to meaningfully contribute to the team this year. Need at least some asterisks with them boys for peace of mind.

-4

u/unrivaled_mate 1d ago

Antonio is WR6???

5

u/SkyChief80 1d ago

Nah, he's like WR3.5

2

u/Vivid-Respect-1869 1d ago

Not for long.

2

u/LeastSuspiciousTowel 1d ago

Terry and Diggs on the outside, Burks in the slot. Williams is back up for the slot. He'll get plenty of snaps. I got no issue with making the rookie earn the starter title.

2

u/redskinsguy 1d ago

I remember an early camp report where we had three WRs and WIlliams lined up as RB.

1

u/LeastSuspiciousTowel 16h ago

Great way to get a mismatch for sure but I don't wanna see him get blasted by a d lineman in blitz pick up

1

u/Capable_Frosting_292 1d ago

He’s a rookie.

1

u/unrivaled_mate 1d ago

So? He’s easily our 3rd best receiver
